how to make a Clothborn fullplate?

Making and selling a +4 sword would more than cover the cost of researching a 9th level spell. SL wizards flat-out aren't willing to do that?

The Scarred Lands must be populated with very poor wizards, unless how they get the massive amount of gold needed for scribing and researching spells is simply handwaved.

Is Clothborn Fullplate basically just +8 Bracers of Armor with a different look?

Poor wizards with wisdoms of 1 and no personality among them it would seem.

Yes they aren't because they often have to spend their resources wisely because in this world there at many, many nasty things that will pop out of no where to kill you. That may sound cliched but it is true. Plus the fact there's always the chance a spell will misfire even if properly cast. It depends on the location of course, but it has been known to happen. Add to that most people would rather trust the clerics of Corean, (because his paladins forge a lot of great weapons) and House Asurus controls and/or enforces a lot of weapon restrictions.

No most generally prefer to keep their personal power to themselves and find riches through hidden caches from the divine war. If people really want to get good weapons, the gods are a better source than wizards when it comes to weapons and armor at least. Plus the fact sorcery (and to an extent wizardry) is seen as kind of "unnatural." Thus people usually won't commission stuff unless they are 100% of the wizards. And there's always the factor of one or more of the gods upsetting the apple cart for whatever reason. Top that off with titanspawn always stealing people away, and/or magic items, it makes wizards more likely to keep themselves.

No it's full plate that moves like padded leather but protects like plate mail.

Sav,

It's your perogavite to think that way. But I assure, I know what I'm talking about.

How? I thought you were just going on about how lawless and dangerous everything was? But somehow someone's got the time to police weaponry?

Not to mention the fact that a wizard adventuring would be in significantly more danger, and casting more spells per day, than one who's crafting items...

Or the wizards pretend that their power is divine in origin, or they found the item in the first place or whatever

I thought there were organisations enforcing the law? You know - keeping weapon restrictions in place like in your previous paragraph?

Sae,

I have said that but there are also other factors than mere survival. House Asurus has the ability to control it because they have lots of political and economic clot. Plus they can always hire the Cult of the Ancients to deal with pesky spellcasters. Adventuring wizards might be in more danger, but item crafters have to be careful too.

Wizards can pretend all they want. The people know better since there are a lot of people that would prefer to get their stuff from churches as they have proven to be more reliable in such matters.

The point here Sae is that there are NUMEROUS factors on why its tough to be an independent item crafting wizard. If you don't have the right connections and/or the right people working for you, there's a very, very good chance you'll end up dead or worse.
