Doesn't matter much if they are legal. We routinely start adventure with PCs not yet approved, I see no difference. Players just have to understand they might have to modify their PC on the fly if a motion to ban some features of PHB3 passes before the book is fully legal.

All that matters is that all the 3rd PCs crowd give right of way to the 1st PC people.

Why even have the one-month-wait rule if players are going to make characters from new sources on the release dates? They would have to adjust their characters based on new proposals either way.

Becuase they're is not normally this big push to create characters on release date, so with everything other than PHB's the 1 month wait works just fine.

Yeah, this is mainly circumstance of A) Release of a major source for player (PHB3) and B) the allowance of a 3rd PC since a short time ago.

The Path of Light is approved as well. Will start as soon as aNatO is over. Only two enemies left to defeat there.

Yeah I didn't mention it because I thought most of the spots are accounted for (and all the PC's in the tavern are level 1)

I wanted to retire Qynn (Swordmage doesn't seem to do it for me ).

But my replacement character will be level 3 and eager for adventure:

No. The 1 PC players are newbies that us 3 PC crowd must nurture. The 2 PC people, on the other hand, are rivals that must be put down.

My adventure has one approval, one more and we're off.

Looks like, in order to take 1st and 2nd PCs first, the group I'd be taking would be:

1: Kasha - Striker
2: Shrakk - Striker
3: RAM TIGER - Defender
4: K'atzn'ii - Striker/Defender
5: D'keth - Defender/Controller
6: Nejs Radan - Leader

Nejs Radan is #6 and a 3rd PC, but he's included since he's a leader.

So: 2.5 Strikers, 2 Defenders, 1 Leader, .5 Controllers...

Edit: If 2nd PCs don't have priority over 3rd PCs and it is instead based on when they entered the Tavern, replace K'atzn'ii with Ghorgor Bay and D'keth with Callisto?

Entry order into the tavern does not have to be considered (though it can).

It is always 1st character over others. The rule is "players with no other characters on adventure" which is always true for first characters. Second PCs generally do not fall into this camp.

Edit: There was discussion about changing the wording so it goes in order of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, but it was not officially approved.

I know Callisto wanted to kept Ghorgor and Fissure together (which I would like as well).

Yeah, Calisto would like to adventure with Ghorghor and Fissure. I would even like to see Nejs and see how works an all Psionic party. Sure, 4 is not enough for a party and would probably add one or two others... but as Nejs is the only Leader, most likely he would go on the next adventure to balance the team unless WD doesn't want to go on that adventure.

I personally know Mal, and I know it is always entertaining to see him in a game, so that's another thing why I'm interested to go with Ghorghor.
