Make Your Own Condition Markers Effect Markers Out of Paper Clips

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to share something I made for use with my dnd/pathfinder game. There pretty easy to make. (instructions on my website) but all you do is use an acrylic rod to bend jumbo sized paper clips (which are coated in a vinyl sheath in various colors) to form a nice kink free circle and with a bit of hot glue you've got yourself a circle of wire, which you can use for condition markers in 4.0 or other types of markers for figures. They're a little larger than 1in bases but you can make them any size really. They also don't "raise" up your character like the colored magnets do.

They work great for movement too in that you can try out various movements and your origin space is still there marked by the hoop, so you'll never say "where was I again" on the battle-mat.

Love this kinda stuff - easy and cheap/free!

I made a post a while back about using paint swatches (free at places like Home Depot) for example. As you mentioned, these are nice as they don't go under the fig.

We use the rings off of soft drink bottles. With all the different brands out there, you can get quite the selection of colours, and even if they don't actually fit around the base of minis, you can always hang them off of something.

another great idea along with the soda/pop bottle rings too! (though we use cans instead of bottles so I might have to switch to get the rings). Always good to have "extras" or more differentiators. I really like the swatch idea as I have a 1in and 2in hole punchs i got at the craft store and used in combination with my rings could make up some pretty good combos. Nice.

they sell these kind of multi-colored rings in 2 dollar packs all over vancouver. Don't know what they're for in real life (asian packaging) but thats what I use, metalic ones are for pc marks.
