Boingy! Boingy!
Been hitting the old movies on Netflix. Introduced my children and my students to the genius of Buster Keaton, for example. I've also dipped into the Roy Rogers selections a bit.

I just finished watching Stargate Universe. It had it's rough spots, and it's "filmed in Vancouver BC" moments, but I _really_ liked it. The cliffhanger series ending was actually much more bearable than I expected, and provides an easy way to restart the show (doubtful, but I can dream) with a replaced or partially replaced crew. There was a real evolution in several personalities that I appreciated.

I can see how it was radically different from previous SG shows, probably much like ST:DS9 was, albeit less successfully in the end.

Out of curiosity, I tried to watch a few episodes of ST: Voyager after this, but I couldn't do it. Too clean, too...funny forehead-y. And I know it's not fair, but the sfx...I just couldn't do it. I'll watch a few more episodes of Outcasts instead, and maybe try again later.

Legend
Revolution returns this month, on the 25th, if memory serves.

Besides my normal shows, I've been informed I need to start watching "Duck Dynasty," because it's apparently hilarious. Of course, the person who recommended it also thinks that Will Ferrell is hilarious, so I'm going in with low expectations, but we'll see. There are two episodes on tonight, after a mini-marathon.

Honestly? Nothing, really.

Sigh.

Might try to find Oz. How was that Giant Slayer movie?

I felt the same way about Jack as I did about Oz in that they were both solid movies that I enjoyed. I don't think either requires the 3D (or even IMAX) treatment be seen to enjoy them. Oz was more touching while Jack was more action-oriented and tension-filled (such as it was). I think either is also a good bet for family entertainment though Oz might better for the littlest viewers.

Might just be time to introduce a grandkid to Oz, then.

NuWho (just reaching the end of Series 2), interspersed with eps of Avengers (EMH) season 2 (also near the end) and Star Trek TOS (near the beginning of season 2).
NuWho--it has been long enough since I saw them that I can be a bit more objective about episodes.
Avengers: season2 is still no where near as good as season 1.
Star Trek--cripes, it has been 20 years since I watched this show. And, these are the CGI updated eps, and based on the "uncut" version. It is almost like watching them for the first time.
