Corrections to Monsters in the CC

I've started an update of the Creature Catalog's Cessirid conversion and noticed a few errors in the original 3.0 version.

It's Bite Attack is +8 (BAB plus Str), but its Weapon Finesse should make it +9 (BAB plus Dex).

Its Skills of Hide +9, Jump +7, Listen +8, Move Silently +9, Spot +8, Swim +7 work out to 30 SPs, but it should have 34 according to the RAW.

Skill Ranks: Hide 6+Dex3, Jump 5+Str2, Listen 4+Wis2+Alertness, Move Silently 6+, Spot 4+Wis2+Alertness, Swim 5+Str2.
Skill Points (Aberration) = 2 times Int (10) plus 2 times EHD (8HD - 1) = 2*10 + 2*7 = 14.

I suggest increasing Jump, Listen, Spot and Swim by 1 apiece, resulting in:

Skills: Hide +9, Jump +8, Listen +0, Move Silently +9, Spot +9, Swim +8

The 24 foot range of its Telepathy is way to short. The original had 240 foot or 240 yard telepathy. Shall we increase it to 240 ft.?

Apart from that, it's Challenge Rating of 7 seems too high, but that's quite a common feature of 3.0 monsters. I'd leave it at 7 for the 3.0 and modify the update conversion we're working on.

So, shall I amend the 3.0 version's attack, skills and telepathy?

Hmmm. While I don't doubt your math and other reasoning, I'm a little hesitant to start correcting anything that old since none of us here now were around back when those 3.0 critters were posted. Let's maybe try to contact one of the old crowd if we want to make that correction.

Yes, I'm in no hurry to start "fixing" old 3.0 creatures either.

So long as the "updated to 3.5" version of the Cessirid gets a 240 or so foot telepathy range I'd be happy.

Just noticed that the Loup du Noir has a simple copy-and-paste stat error - the Locathah version should have 2d6+10 damage in its Seize Throat & Chew description, not 2d6+12.

It's fixed now.

Sounds good, but that's not actually in the CC yet. Speaking of, are we nearing a batch of 10 any time soon?

I've just noticed an error in the Dire Werebadger. It's animal and hybrid forms have saving throws of Ref +7, Will +7 which should be Ref +6, Will +5. Its Dwarf form should also have a +5 Will save.

Reflex (Animal/Hybrid): +0 (Warrior 1) plus +3 (Dire Animal 3) plus +3 (Dex 19) = +6
Will (All): +0 (Warrior 1) plus +3 (Dire Animal 3) plus +0 (Wis 11) plus +2 (Iron Will) = +5

EDIT: I've corrected the CC entry, but unfortunately, I can't edit the Werebadger Homebrew. I might correct the "Working Draft" version in General Monsters if I can find it.
