Running at night on that would be sick! In particular late summer and early fall when it can stay warm well into the evening. We have solar lights on some of our bike paths, but there are gaps so you still need a light source. In a weird way surface lighting might actually feel less artificial than overhead lighting.

I could see some other uses for his stuff, too.

Imagine glow in the dark blue arrows pointing towards police stations or emergency call boxes, especially off of exit ramps on rural highways. (Ditto ones with red crosses pointing towards hospitals or urgent care clinics.)

Might also be good for illuminating walkways and/or the streets in those highway rest zones. Those things can get damn dark if just a couple of overheads go out.

Or what about the parking lots of big retailers, parking malls, or arenas & stadiums? Not the entire lot, but possibly some designated pathways to reduce the amount of shadow for hiding miscreants.

Hmm...I wonder if this stuff could be used to coat light or telephone poles.
