I guess I'm not a huge advocate of technology at the table. I need something to play music, so just a laptop suffices. I used to use a program called rpg soundmixer, and that totally rocked, but it took some time to queue up the music, but once it was done it was done, and you could reuse and re-sample saved archives for years and years.
If I had access to a digital projector mounted in the ceiling and a 1" grid, I would gladly upgrade to that.
