Personally I find them annoyingly finicky things to track in RPGs, but understand their purpose.

I'm in the same boat, particularly for trying to handle them in PbP combat. I'm not going to penalize you all for not having mounts if you don't want to spend money on them.

So, party members, with regards to starting funds and disposition thereof:

1) What is the party's feeling on mounts? Personally I find them annoyingly finicky things to track in RPGs, but understand their purpose. Mostly however, I think they have to be an all or nothing kind of thing. Nobody wants to be the one person without a horse.

I'm small. Like, SMALL. Seeing a Gnome on a horse is just...wrong. Although, if we are to be walking, I will slow everyone down. So I'm actually not opposed to owning a horse/mule and a cart/wagon that one could drive. Or ride in. Would also solve the issue of weight of gear.

2) The party seems light on larceny. The training option provided gives me an opening, should I wish, to pick up proficiency in thieves' tools. Shall I do so, or shall we maintain our position as upstanding pillars of the community?

Someone should spend the cash on it. Who has the best modifiers to using Thieves' tools? I think that whomever has the best chances for success should be the one to purchase that proficiency; wouldn't want to waste the cash on someone who can't really take advantage of it, no?

I need to log off for the remainder of the afternoon. It's my intention to start work on Brue's background either tonight or tomorrow night. So that I don't have to scroll through multiple pages of this OOC looking for character entries, I will wait until our RG is updated with everyone's sheets, and then I'll have a second read of ya'll's backgrounds. If someone is burning with a suggestion for a connection to Brue, drop me a line (PM, or here works). Boddynock, however, is going to have to be a new friend. Sorry, Egon, but you and I would be giving up waaay too many awesome roleplay opportunities to have it otherwise.

CanadienneBacon, I wouldn't have it any other way. I think there are going to be some awesome RP opportunities in this game as a whole, but definitely between you and I based on your history and what my character is.

Well, generally a gnome would get a pony or riding dog. But a wagon is a pretty smart idea, plus a lot cheaper.

It'd be Corilo (+4) or Lorenzo (+3). Honestly, not sure it's super in-character for either of them. I think I'll hold off until the first trap goes off in our faces :)

Not burning, but just some thoughts, although it is difficult as we can't be sure how much of your personality was induced by head trauma. (Were you always a grave-robber?)

But in general, you're a devoutly lawful adherent of the god of self-righteous suffering, while Lorzeno is a happy-go-lucky chaotic follower of the goddess of good fortune. So we could get along just like oil and water, but in a good-natured kind of way. Like I've devoted my life to seeing you break out of your shell.

I can see connections with Gnorth largely being associated with his love of a good story and his desire to be a part of something bigger. Boddynock, for instance, reminds him of a weasel like hunter from his tribe who would seek to share credit for deeds he had never accomplished, but, like the hunter, eventually learned the err of his ways through hard work and determination. Gnorth is quick to point out that the hunter in his story was mauled by a bear and died, but the hunter was quick and the bear showed much hard work and determination, but if Boddynock thought about it, he could surely see that these are very similar stories and Gnorth sincerely hopes that his bear and subsequent mauling is just a metaphor.

Upon the recommendations of our gnomish cohort (and the realization that I have proficiency in land vehicles) I have purchased a cart and donkey. Our donkey is named Joté, everyone say 'hello', and feel free to use space on the cart if needed.
