D&D 5E What classes do you want added to 5e?

The same thought crossed my mind as I typed it, but I hope you see the point: I'd be letting a desire for mechanical benefit drive my roleplaying decisions. Which maybe is better than not even having a choice of whether or not I'm in love with the Half-orc, but is still a false choice.
Sounds like you've never played FATE or other narrative focused games, where using your roleplaying hooks to gain mechanical benefits is the entire focus of play.

I think all this stuff about external agents (while relevant, technically) is a distraction from the main point: that when you say "Your character is inspired by my character" you are hijacking my right to roleplay my character, not just in terms of physical action (e.g. as a Hold Person spell, or Grappling him might do), but his very thoughts and emotions. It is categorically no different from saying, "Your character is in love with my character."

Sorry, but I will never support the inclusion of a class that even has that ability, let alone on one whose core concept is based on such an ability.

Wel in 4th edition the wordin was the target may spend a healing surge, so being inspired was a choice of the recipient.
While some of the Cleric powers where worded the target regains Hitpoints as if he had spend a healing surge

Maybe a warlord would have a power that would allouw targets to spend a number of their healing hitdice.
It would efect all allies within x range, the warlord might trigger it with a action a few times per day, but might also auto trigger from the warlord doing something inspirational like scoring a critical hit.

Wow, 43 pages? I'm gonna skip that for now.

Classes I want to see added to 5E? Ranger, Sorcerer, and Warlock. Also elemental Clerics. And Psions.

aren't rangers sorcerers and warlocks in the pHB?!?!

I would push for a better generic sorcerer (child of an archmage, or mutant) but they are there

I've gotta say, roleplaying a emotionless monk trying to hide his unrequited love for his half-orc companion sounds flipping awesome to me.
Now imagine if its something you did not think sounded "flipping awesome", but the half-orc player put it on the table none-the-less...

Sure, I play a lot of The One Ring, where you have a strong incentive to tie actions to your personality traits. And it's fun.

TOR also has "Fellowship Focus", which grants specific mechanical bonuses in relation to one member of the party, who you select.

But the idea there is that you pick traits/bonds that appeal to your sense of story, and then you look for opportunities to leverage those traits and bonds during the game. That is very different from just saying, "Sure, he inspires me" without any kind of opportunity cost or trade-off.

then I have some choices...

1) try something I may not like see if it grows on me
2) walk away from the table saying "sorry I can't play with this"
3) ignore it and just play my own character

I'm sure I'm missing some
