Wow. I'll stick with a blaster rifle.
Yeah, Force powers are very difficult to use until you get at least a rating of 2, which requires significant XP investment. It's how they keep Force users balanced with everyone else in the game. These aren't your prequel Jedi, but more like Luke in Episode 4. Though someone did build Obi Wan from Episode 1 using the 150 Knight XP level able to do everything he did in the movie, though requiring significant luck in the rolls and probably a lot of destiny point flipping.

Sounds cool. How long would it take for krallatan to have enough foce juice to use telepathy? Can you imagine? "Rauwooo," in your brain?

Actually, so far I've never had an actual 'translation' in mind. I have been trying to explain his feelings in my descriptions and just using his vocalizations as added color. My plan is to use hand/arm signals for tactical communications and other necessary stuff. It is a challenge to RP a character that is a 'functional mute,' to borrow a phrase from NCIS. I hope this doesn't bother anyone. If it does, we can work-out something. If anyone has used points or anything to know the wookie language, I hope that our gracious GM will permit those points to be used elsewhere.
Leif, I did not have to spend points on Shryyiiwook since that is not a cost associated with EoE. I also already had that language listed when I created Mack the first time (long before this game was announced). I will keep it since, I still think it is better to have than not.

If you decide Krallatan is not going to talk even in his native tongue, then I guess that is your choice.

From my experience the whole mute concept will get old pretty quick. I have seen this repeatedly in PbP (twice with Wookiees even and the rest with shapeshifted druids) and what generally always happens the other players increasing learn to ignore the anti-social character since they rarely participate meaningfully in interparty dialog, NPC interactions, and role-playing in general.

Crap. I wrote an IC post an hour ago on my laptop and must have left it in Preview. I will not be able to get back to it for 12-13 hours and it had relevant RP that would have superseded Noe's post. {grrrr}

Edit: I found it, but it sort of interrupts Noe's post.

Even though I've already weighed in as GM, I'll reiterate that I don't have a problem with what you are doing, Leif. In fact, I think it is more in-line with the cinematic aspect of the movies where they opted to not use subtitles for alien languages in the theaters. The roars and whines Krallaton is making are Shryyiiwook, there just isn't a direct translation provided. Mack understands 100% of what he is saying with the others having a basic grasp. With that said, I think it fair that the other characters be able to come up with their own interpretation of Krallaton's untranslated dialogue and react to it as they see fit, basically how Han does in the movies.

Unless anyone else has an issue with it, I'd like to put this to rest.

perrinmiller I assume you can see the brownish color you use for Mack's speech, correct? I'm trying to figure out what color to use for speech. I'll hold off on posting until you all decide if you're going to split up.

It is that particular shade of blue that hurts my eyes and I cannot read. It is one of the default colors and does not show up with the dark background for some reason. Any lighter shade works fine. Orange, yellow, cyan, lime, red, etc..
