Errors messages and printing layout

Hey yo! As I have commented on over the years now, this is the best tool out there. I have required my players to use it when I dm.

That being said, I have been having a really big problem. I had a hard drive crash and have a new laptop and need to rebuild all my characters. I am running Excel 2007 (same as before) but from the first download (and every successive download) of v2.27 i get the following error message at file opening:

Excel found unreadable content in 'ForgedAnvil D&D 5E Character Generator v2.27'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook then click yes

I click yes and go about my business and i get a notification that it has made the following repairs
Removed Part: /xl/comments1.xml part with XML error. (Comments) Load error. Line 2, column 453.
Removed Part: /xl/comments2.xml part with XML error. (Comments) Load error. Line 2, column 393.

Now, i get this EVERY time i have downloaded and opened a fresh copy. It works, as such but there are errors all over the sheet now. All of the subclass feature pull downs for things like expertise in rogues or schools for wizards always stay grey, though you can select them, but it doesn't give that nice reminder of the color change. Worst of all is that the printing is COMPLETELY skewed. The values overlap the edges of boxes (like initiative, proficiency, and ac) and the text descriptions (that are already very fine print) do the same for things like resistances. This makes them basically unreadable.

Probably the biggest issue with the printing is in the Race,Background,Class & Feats section. There are no line breaks at all now. All the sentences and sections all run together with zero pagination.

I have tried printing to PDF as well but that doesn't help. I am at this point out of ideas and would love some suggestions to how to fix this. I have grown to depend on this MARVELOUS tool. There are several beer in it for you guys if you can help me out haha. Thanks all!

I have just transferred a character (Bard4/Pal3) from an old version of this tool to version 2.27 and I'm seeing some strange behaviour on the 'Spellcasting' page - character sheet III.

Instead of it being laid out across multiple pages with lots of blank rows for higher level spells, this page is heavily truncated with only three rows for cantrips, 10 rows for level 1 spells and 3 rows for level 2 spells, which means that the whole set only takes up about a quarter of a page of A4 when I check print preview.

It appears that the workbook is calculating how many rows are appropriate for the spells that my character knows - except if that is the case then the calculation has got it wrong as by my reckoning my character should have 11 rows for level 1 spells rather than the 10 at present; level 1 should consist of rows for 4 'known' spells from the Bard side, then rows for 5 'prepared' spells from the Paladin side (CHA modifier of 4 plus half his Paladin levels rounded down) and finally 2 rows for the spells from the sacred oath.

It's a bit of pain having to remember that my character has got an extra spell available to him at level 1 - is there a toggle somewhere that will flip this sheet back to the full page mode I remember from earlier versions? It's entirely possible that I flipped a switch somewhere that I've forgotten about but I've looked through the 'Start' tab and nothing seems obvious.

Regards
Luke

Check the filters are cleared, you will find two small red comments above the Cantrips CAST and RANGE headers - the two filters should be cleared to see tbe 3 pages

What version of Windows and Excel are you using? Ensure you check uodates for both OS and Excel. You may also want to try 2.28 beta in the downloads section and test the same.

I use Windown 10 Pro and Excel 2010 (and keep both updated), and the only time I have issues is when I forget to clear the "downloaded from the internet" flag. Still, Mickey Flint's problem sounds more like malware at work to me.
