Day 215: Adisakti

Adi hears Vittero's exclamation and rushes in that direction with haste. As he runs, he thinks to himself ~~These fellows would get themselves killed if it weren't for me.~~ He files that thought away for later use as a friendly jibe.

GM: As with Raven Elk, Adisakti can see Taylar and Vittero dodging something over in the grass, but cannot yet determine the threat. Though he begins running at the same time, he is a bit slower than Raven Elk, on his feet, and grimaces at the fact that it is taking him longer. It will take 10 seconds for Adi to reach the fray.

Maka will take off at a dead run when he hears the cry of alarm. As soon as he is able to see a spider, he will stop, and fire his bow from whatever distance he is at, rather than allowing the spider any further chance to act before his arrival.

Day 215: Taylar vs Spider

Taylar shouts, "Damn spider!", as he attempts to jab the iron shod end of his granbaton into the creature's face. He will attempt to position himself closer to Vittero so they cannot get attacked from behind.

GM: Though Taylar's chosen use of his weapon is twice as fast as swinging it, the spiders proves extremely quick and launches itself at him twice more before Taylar can attack.

Day 215: Maka

Maka will take off at a dead run when he hears the cry of alarm. As soon as he is able to see a spider, he will stop, and fire his bow from whatever distance he is at, rather than allowing the spider any further chance to act before his arrival.

GM: As with his other two friends, Maka immediately begins to close distance, and proves slightly faster than the others. It would take him 4 seconds to close to melee, but will be able to see the spiders in just under 3 seconds from a distance of 5 paces.

Day 215: Vittero vs Spider

Vittero continues to try to avoid the spider while drawing and firing a second arrow. If the spider actually lands on him, out of reflex he will manipulate Way to heat it.

GM: The spider manages to land on Vittero and sink in its fangs causing a minor would. Vittero is able to resist the injected toxin. While already holding onto Vittero body, the spider has an easier time sinking the fangs causing more of an injury, but again Vittero is able to resist the toxin. At this point Vittero neglects his bow and heats the spider.

The spider continues to try to launch itself onto Taylar to sink in its fangs.

At this point, Maka, who is 7 paces away making a straight line through the tall grass to lend combat assistance to his friends, happens to run right by another spider burrow, provoking an attack from a third spider.

Raven Elk and Adisakti, who happen to be running toward Taylar and Vittero following the same path, are only 2 paces from Maka, who is to their right, and can see that a previously hidden spider suddenly launched an attack at him. Taylar, who is 7 paces away, still appears to be engaged in combat, while Vittero, at the same distance seems to have gained an upper hand.

Taylar and Maka both have a spider attached to the front of their bodies. The spiders, counting the legs, are about the size of a man's torso.

OOC: If any character is going to make a change in his course of action, make a post. Raven Elk and Adi can change direction in mid-stride to help Maka who is closer or choose to continue on. Taylar and Maka can both choose to manipulate Way instead of attack since the spider is touching them.

Taylar's mind races as he pictures his and his friends desiccated bodies covered in webs. This steels his resolve and he decides a change in tactics might work. He intends to manipulate Way to lower the temperature of the spider to freeze it to death or at least slow it down. Since the spider is so close, heat might do splash damage on him.

Adisakti come up along side Taylar and hit the spider's thorax using a lateral swing of his staff as if he were chopping a tree with an axe.

Day 215: Taylar vs Spider, part 3

Taylar's mind races as he pictures his and his friends desiccated bodies covered in webs. This steels his resolve and he decides a change in tactics might work. He intends to manipulate Way to lower the temperature of the spider to freeze it to death or at least slow it down. Since the spider is so close, heat might do splash damage on him.

OOC: GM NOTE: Unless heating a volatile substance like alcohol or guano or sulfur, etc., there is no risk of injury to the Bender even when range is limited to touch.
