Weird Orgy comment on DnD Beyond Home Page Video

A Title Much Cooler Than Anything on the Old Site
I'm not particularly overprotective of my kids and generally feel that it is best to calmly and discuss with my kids whatever adult things they may encounter. But I still find it strange that DnD Beyond, would make an orgy reference in a home page video, and that it would be made by a WotC game designer. See, "Kate Welch on Why D&D is so Memorable", at 3:30, https://youtu.be/3wnE9eR1N7I?t=210

I suppose that in a game that glorifies violence and where demons and devils can be encountered, that sensitivity over the word "orgy" seems out of place. DnD Beyond accounts are limited to those 13 years old and older and 13-year-olds are likely to encounter far worse these days. Still, it seems inappropriate in this context.

The video is Age restricted at the request of uploader (at least now) and Welch apologizes in the comments. Seems pretty mild honestly but everyone has different buttons.

Yeah she says she even thought it got cut. At the end of the interview she even says "Thanks, Todd. Just edit this to make me seem as little crazy as possible."

Looks like the Orgy comment was missed.

"Keep your mind open, which is probably exactly what you'd say if like, uh, you invited someone to, like, a weird orgy."

I'm more offended by her repeated use of "like."

Some people do that when a bit nervous. (My cousins did that a ton in their teenage years.)

Well, she did say "weird" orgy, right? I mean, as long as she implies to the impressionable children watching that orgies are weird, that's OK, isn't it?

There are two types of kids.
1) Those who know what an orgy is and will just get that comment and likely squirm
2) Those that don’t where it will go right over their head

Kids hear all kinds of adult stuff and as long as you give them a half assed explanation, they will roll with it and move on.
They’ll ask “what’s an orgy” and a quick parent will shrug, look bored, and reply “a kind of weird party some people are into, where grown ups act silly/ try to kiss as many people as possible”. The kid will likely accept that and move on, not knowing it’s something provocative.
It’s only if the parent freaks out that the kid know’s it’s something interesting.
