Please dont miscosntrue as snarky . so am i misreading the stories about the license fee? im reading right from bbc itself? BBC hemmoraging money as people are fusing to pay and many opting out
I don't know what you're reading, so I can't possibly comment on it. But the BBC seems to be doing OK. Viewing habits change, of course, and it has to evolve, but that goes for everybody. Doctor Who notwithstanding, it's a massive corporation which does vast amounts of stuff. It's always had its naysayers and it always will. That's nothing new. They were saying the same thing when I was a kid.

ending March 31, 2021, the BBC saw a 314.2 million pounds profit from an income of approximately 5.06 billion. However 3.75 billion of the income came from the licence fee and that has been identified as a risk due to changes in viewing habits (30% decline in overall viewership).
I suspect that is what you are referring to? At the moment the BBC is profitable but the long term viability needs to be looked at especially as its Royal charter and thus its right to receive the licence fee ends in 2027

I'm cautiously optimistic. While Peter Capaldi is now my favorite, even after a lackluster first series, there was a lot to like in RTD's first run. The parts I didn't were mainly Rose (in hindsight) and the tween romance schlock that surrounded her. Davies and Chibnall were similar, I feel, in that the best stories of their runs were usually written by other people (which was usually Steven Moffat under Davies).

Hopefully with Davies we get a bit more upbeat hopeful doctor. That and please quit blowing up galifrey, theres an entire universe to play in. I liked the last two doctors but they were so hobbled by bad scripts. I want the show to be fun again. Enough of the crawling through glass.

At this point, is there any real difference between Galifrey and the drummer in Spın̈al Tap?

The pearls must hit the alley asphalt, Uncle Ben must get shot, and Galifrey must explode.

I am cautiously optimistic. I thought Jodie Whittaker was okay as the Doctor. Certain episodes throughout her run gave me hope that the show would get interesting. Too bad there were way too many bad episodes. In my opinion the most interesting companion was Graham. I wish he had stayed. I wish I had seen more of some of the original Doctors as I might have liked them. Tom Baker was the one a friend tried to get me to like. I watched a half dozen or so episodes and just couldn't get interested. I started watching with Eccleston and enjoyed it. I got to meet him and John Barrowman in Boston at a con a month ago.

Lol. first explosion was a great shock, the second was fun, everyone from the third is just tiresome. There are so many strings they could continue. Like what has Jenny been doing. What about Susan his/her grandaughter after the universe was rebooted. What is her timeline like now.

Weve got a former companion and the eternal child in a brand new tardis. Wouldn't it be great if they all had started a new world of timelords by going to the beginning of time, and been tinkering all along. Maybe that explains the timeless child. i want something new and fun not a gallifrey that has a push here to explode button for when they run out of ideas.
