Babylon 5 animated movie in the works

Sadly, thinking about how many are alive still is kinda depressing.
I know! At least with Star Trek they all lived a good long time, I think Deforest Kelly was the first one to die and he was almost 80. But the Babylon 5 actors were all fairly young. Biggs was in his 40s, Doyle was in his early 60s, Katsulas didn't make it to 60, and Furlan was only 65 or so.

While I loved Babylon 5, I have some ambivalence about any new series or movies. Outside of the main series, I thought the television movies weren't very good. It's been years, but I only thought one of them was decent and I didn't care enough to watch the spinoff series. In a lot of ways, I feel like the Babylon 5 story is complete and I don't know if I really need more.

There's a cast picture in which someone made the deceased members greyscale, but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

yeah no kidding. Who is still left?
Richard Biggs, Andreas Katsulas, Jerry Doyle, Stephen Furst, Jeff Conaway, and Michael O'Hare have all passed.

We still have Claudia Christian, Bruce Boxleitener, Mira Furlan, Peter Jurasik, and Bill Mumy.

We also have Walter Koenig, Patricia Tallman, Andrea Thompson, Julie Catlin Brown (Na'Toth) Ardwright Chamberlin (Kosh) and Josh Coxx (Lt. Corwin) if he's going that far down the tree.

Unfortunately Mira has also passed (back in 2021) :(

I'm curious what story can be told with the remaining cast. I'm thinking obviously pre-destruction of B5, pre-Sheridan's end when he goes to the Grey Havens (it's been awhile since I've watched)... but you have strong Psi Corps characters left, you have Lyta and Kosh, and you have station personnel - will it be more about the psi Underground Railroad going to Vorlon space?

Animated? Hmm, could work.
I just hope that whatever method of animation they choose, the visual style is there.

Ten or fifteen years ago, any "animated movie" of a non-animated property was kind of exciting. Now, the standards are much higher - we've seen a significant number of extremely stylishly-animated shows - several on Netflix alone - but we've also seen quite a few poorly-animated ones (again some on Netflix!), and they really don't go down well.

The worst are those DC animated movies. They take a cool comic storyline with a distinct visual (Dark Knight Returns, Long Halloween etc) and make them look like a generic Batman TV episode. So it can go the other way too.

Yes!

I started typing about those and then decided not to include it in the post, but I agree completely. It's bizarre that DC keeps putting out these dreadful animated movies. The Killing Joke was particularly staggering bad, essentially illustrating that whoever had creative control profoundly didn't understand The Killing Joke on even a very basic and normal level. Just mindblowing.
