I doubt that Quests From the Infinite Staircase will have anything to do with the menacing Iron Shadow threat, that was in the background of the Planescape module Tales From the Infinite Staircase.

Though for the Iron Shadow, I certainly speculated that such an antagonist force of Law that destroys creativity, is tied to the Wind Dukes of Aqaa and the Rod of Seven Parts.

I doubt that QftIS will have much of a frame at all: a quest giving major NPC, perhaps an organizational framework, and a home base. Similar to past anthologies. Then the Adventures will largely ignore the proposed framework, and thst framework can be replaced or merged with the others (Candlekeep, the Radiant Citadel, etc.).

OK, here's another candidate for the six Adventures in the Infinite Staircase: hiw about a 5E update of the 3.5 era Dungeon magazine version of Maure Castle...? Written by one of the first Dungeon Master's, with roots going back to the 70's but also touching on Aughts nostalgia?

Probably an uncommon approach for many fans on this platform, but I'm definitely planning on a wait and see approach to the upcoming core books. Getting into the RPG hobby and buying the 2014 core books only a couple years ago hasn't diminished my personal enjoyment of the game, so I'll probably pick up the new edition later similarly to see if I like it. The adventures on the other hand I'm much more interested in, particularly seeing another example of a level 10-20 campaign from WOTC that isn't a mega-dungeon...

Yeah, this is something I'm coming to terms with that is rough. I love owning physical books, and I like sitting on the couch to read through them.. But for actual game use a PDF is just miles better. Sure you can put tags or bookmarks in your book but it's never as effective as the digital copy. I like to open multiple instances of my books as individual tabs that I can bounce between, each open to the pertinent section. Or cutting statblocks and pasting them together into a single page for table reference.

It's just hard to beat.

Same! It'll be coming out the week before my birthday.. I was really on the fence about buying any new WOTC product but I may make an exception here and buy it as a birthday gift to myself.
I find searching through a pdf counter-intuitive, and vastly prefer flipping through a physical book for reference. I buy pdfs mostly for cost savings and ease of storage, not because it's my preference in any other way.

Of course, that's just my preference.
