    Non-Linear Wound System

I forgot to mention The One Ring. It also has a system where you have hp, called Endurance, that can be whittled down to 0 and thus death, but like Rolemaster, you might die another way. Unlike Rolemaster, there's no charts involved, and it's much, much simpler. You can get what's called a...

    Non-Linear Wound System

As others have stated, Rolemaster and it's derivatives (MERP) sort of have this. While you do have HP and you might die by hitting 0HP, it's more likely some sort of critical roll will take you out. The Riddle of Steel (which you can get a pdf copy for easily, btw, at TRoS fansite) is similar...

    Game Design 117: Adventures

Good adventures (of the written published variety) would be amazing! Unfortunately, I've yet to see one myself.

    The Backseat GM

If you have a problem with your GM in any way - take notes. Bring it up after the session is over, otherwise you're disrupting the flow of the game (an exception could be made here for something terribly egregious like a GM just flat out dictating your character's actions for no apparent...

    "Support", who needs it?

I've noticed that totally irrational behavior from D&D-only players and WoD-only players, but in folks who game many different systems, it doesn't seem to exist. The only exception to that is those GM's that actually run nothing but published settings and adventures - I don't actually know any...

Where do you go for RPG reviews?

Nah, in the age of the Internet you can find anyone to buy anything, trust me. If you don't, go look at some of the stuff they sell on ebay. They sell empty beer bottles and old beer caps for example - why would anyone buy that!? But they do...

Where do you go for RPG reviews?

I don't read reviews, they are always biased one way or the other so I find it pointless to read someone else's opinions of anything really, not just RPG's. I buy what I think might be cool and form my own opinions, then sell it off if it turns out that it sucks.

Fellow Savage Worlders - Am I crazy, or on to something (fiddling with the dice)?

First off, to get a true bell curve, you need to roll 3 dice. Given that, wouldn't it just be easier to drop the 'wild-die' and have "wildcards" roll 3dx (x dictated normally) and have "mooks" roll 2dx (again, dictated normally)? Along with your floating TN's (recalculated to the new maths, of...

Looking for suggestions on RPG's to own

As for the systems you list, all I can really tell you is the order of rules-heaviness is: Castles & Crusades Pathfinder Hackmaster Beyond that, I highly recommend these games to everyone that loves fantasy gaming in all it's forms: Talislanta (it's freely downloadable in pdf form now) Dragon...

What Genre, Setting, Supplement, System, or Whatever Would You Like Kickstarted

Check out a book called Trauma: http://www.radicalapproach.co.uk/trauma/ by Claus Bornich (on lulu.com also). It's usable by any rpg system and may be just what you're looking for. There is even a d&d/d20 specific conversion guide on his company website (a radical approach in the UK)...

    Is D&D "Rubbish"?

Quite frankly I can't help but agree. D&D has always and will always be a horrible system, IMHO. I do disagree with his ranting on 4E when it was clearly the GM being a horrible GM, not the systems fault, but yeah, other than that little bit of his videos there, I agree 100% with the rest of...

    Non-combat RPGs?

The Gumshoe system is supposed to be really good at this type of game (investigative that is, IDK about PbP) and is also rules light. GURPS Mysteries might also be a valuable tool for running such a game.

Did the Brits do it better?

Dragon Warriors originally came out in the mid 80's IIRC as 6 separate books, but was re-released in an updated format by Magnum Opus Press. Recently Magnum Opus Press let go of the license and a new company Serpent King Games has picked up the license. They are currently working to get all...

Did the Brits do it better?

If you really want to see how the Brits did it better, pick up the British answer to D&D... Dragon Warriors, now owned by Serpent King Games. It's the best version of D&D I've ever played, despite not actually being D&D. The system, the setting and the adventures are better than anything I've...
