    D&D 5E Gut-Checking to My Jerk-DM Level (ToA Spoilers)

You want to conclude the game giving the impression that you have been fair and (importantly!) also in a way that they have fun. Fun is important or they won't keep playing.

    Book Imp question

So the Book Imp familiar can be turned invisible until the end of your next turn as a free action. Does that essentially mean that it can be kept invisible constantly, as long as you continue to use free actions to do it? Or would it have to reappear before you can disappear it again?

    What is a book imp?

Is it an animated floating book? An imp holding a book? If I'm not mistaken, it's only "active" ability is to be able to go invisible. Can it do anything other than be not visible? I know it gives bonuses to Arcana and History, resistance to fire and ability to speak Supernal. Good stuff.

    Dwarven Weapon Training--ALL axes??

Does Dwarven Weapon Training give proficiency with ALL axes and hammers, including superior weapons like execution axe, mordenkrad ... and even the axe end of the ugrosh? Likewise would Eladrin Soldier give proficiency with the greatspear? The text of the feats suggests that all weapons of the...

What was your favorite 1e/2e magic item?

What one item has the most nostalgia for you as you think back on early editions of D&D?

Versatile Weapons - am I reading it correct?

Moon Lancer's answer sounds logical to me. I would add that the advantage of the greatsword comes into play with powers that deal 2W or 3W.

    Rangers and Heavy Thrown Weapons

Is that true? The sidebar on PHB p. 216 says that you use the ability indicated by the power. It's only when you make a basic attack that you would use STR for your attack roll. I'm still confused though. When would you ever apply your STR bonus to damage rolls for a thrown weapon?

[Star Wars] Saga Edition's New Damage System

The Jedi Counseling article suggests that one of the primary reasons for the change was to make it less deadly. How exactly does it do that? I'm missing something. When it comes down to how much damage your character can take, there's not much difference between the vitality points and hit...

    Stunning Fist

Stunning Fist says the enemy is stunned until just before your next action. So, does that mean when your turn comes around again, he has his Dex bonus to AC back already and you don't get to take advantage of his lowered AC?

Could someone help me out with a link to the FAQ?

    Coup de Gras question.

Pronounce it right! It's a tangent, but I feel it is my duty ... It is correctly pronounced KOO duh GRAHS. That's right: the 'p' is silent, but the 's' is not.

    Star Wars Force Point question

Thanks Genshou, for clearing up at least one of my questions. As for the first question, it strikes me as really strange the more I think about it. There are SO many checks that determine the outcome of lengthy activities: many survival checks, gather info, some handle animal and diplomacy...

    Star Wars Force Point question

Can I use a force point on a check that represents activity that takes more than a round? On a Craft check, for example? The reason I ask is that the phrasing of the rules applies best to checks that occur in one round, although they do not specifically state that it has to be. Also, can I...

New Core Classes: Love them or Leave them?

The fun is in the minimalism of it. Less is more. (I'm not speaking for diaglo, of course.) Actually, I'd prefer even more minimalism. Make players use NPC classes for the first few levels: warrior, expert, aristocrat, adept, commoner. Then the base classes become almost like prestige...

New Core Classes: Love them or Leave them?

In general, I like the idea of more base classes BETTER than prestige classes and A LOT BETTER than the option of creating your own hodgepodge by multiclassing. I like most WotC base classes, BUT the scout class is out of control! Too powerful.
