    Rather than coming from outside I'd imagine that martial, psionics, and ki come from within. Could easily be seen as the progressing towards the perfection of body, mind, and soul respectively.

    The dwarf pre-gen is +3 str, +2 prof, and +1 for two-handed weapon talent (fighter feature). So a +6 on Str based weapon attacks.

    As I understand it the AC and reflex bonus provided by shields will always remain constant throughout the tiers. It's probably more accurate to say your giving up a little damage in exchange for a little defense. Power selection will likely be the most affected by weapon choice.

    Also the power attack feat adds more damage to attacks when using two handed weapons, (+3,+6,+9) per tier rather than (+2,+4,+6). Also reach weapons are two-handed and many have two weapon types so I'm expecting halberds and such to become more popular.

    Actually the comparative cost of Raise Dead is going down as a character moves to a higher tier. The cost of the ritual goes up by 10x per tier but at the same time expected wealth is going up by 25x. If the ritual followed wealth guidelines exactly then it should cost 12,500 GP in the paragon...

    The other possibilty is that some of the population lives in town, but works in nearby farms. The possibility of orcish raids and such may mean that workers (or maybe just their families) choose to live in the town, while still working at a nearby farm.     Actually the table for magic item prices had been worked out (seemingly). The gold from the altar is just shy of the value of a 5th level item (1000 gold). With the sale price of item being so low this is a significant stash, considering the PCs can use it anyway they'd like.

    According to KotS ongoing damage of the same type doesn't stack. But a character is basically going to be taking 5 damage every round until the swarm is dead since the swarm will likely hit at least once with its 2-3 attacks.

    Tiefling Warlord for KotS + Extra Skill Challenge

    Looking at the warlord it also seems like the light shield isn't being added to its reflex defense. Also, though this is more nitpicking than anything, the Scorching Burst should probably be +5 versus reflex at 2nd level, not +4.
