    Dungeon Survival Handbook

I'm hoping there's also support for orcs, and maybe even a bit more for Gnolls. It'd be nice to be able to play something that isn't another elf variant.

Why do we need Encounter Powers?

Encounter powers are a big part of the enjoyment for me - they rarely feel as weak as most at-wills, and they never feel as game-breaking as dailies (even when some are actually worse). There's also no sense of "do I waste this now?" with encounters, or at least not much of one, whereas...

    Character Design: Primal Drow

Just to update: Ended up going with the scout with the Precision Throw feat. It worked beautifully - the player really enjoyed the constant shifting and good damage output, and the rest of the party seemed to have a blast with the new element it brought to the table. Once the player got the...

...Well I'll be damned. Thank you!

    Character Design: Primal Drow

I can't find that feat - are you positive?

    Character Design: Primal Drow

The problem with Scouts are multiple: First, they use DEX as primary (and can even use it for melee basic attacks) and drow long knives are heavy thrown, which relies on STR. Second, they benefit most from light blades, and DLK's are heavy. Finally, the power that lets them hit with their...

    Character Design: Primal Drow

Okay, long story short: For some time now I've been DMing a Dark Sun campaign. As part of the background, I've established that the belgoi are the setting's version of drow (which they mostly are, given the little backstory we have on them). The party is currently tasked with getting rid of a...

    Heroes of the Feywild: Items

They seem to be using boons to do some of the things rituals have been used for in the past, which to be honest I think is a big improvement.

    Starting an all Kobold Campaign

Perhaps encourage the wizard to hybrid artificer? It'd both give the group some healing and make it easier to justify the creation of health potions, while maintaining the basic premise of the character.

Can you use sensing eye to determine the sight of sensing eye?

    Right, but in the following situation (for example) that would allow a PC to see things around a corner. (Where x is the PC, # is impassable wall and 1,2,3 are the casts of Sensing Eye) _______ |1 _ 2| | |#| | |x|#| | | |#| | | |#|3| | |#| | | |#| |

Can you use sensing eye to determine the sight of sensing eye?

No, because the power specifies "...that is within five squares of you". Determining line of sight from a square does not mean you occupy the square, so the range limit is not circumvented. Edit: Although I suppose you might be able to use it to look around a double corner or some such, so...

Does the ardent make your head hurt?

I've got a level 12 ardent in a home campaign and have enjoyed every second of it thoroughly. They're an interesting class that can excel at a number of different things - mine for example is wielding a greatspear and focuses on healing powers. Should probably mention that I play a battlemind...

    Invisible Cover

I'd rule no, because the invisible enemy obviously isn't obstructing your aim. I might have the archer roll a "mysterious" percentage die though, since they'd have a good chance of hitting the enemy between them and their target by mistake.

Where are you buying Mordenkainen's Magnificient Emporium?

This may make me part of the problem, rather than the solution, but I won't be buying it. I already pay for a DDI subscription and I have a substantial library of other 4E publications, but whereas with a book of powers and abilities (Psionic Power for example) there's a lot of flavor to go...

    Time for an all-pixie campaign

That's enough to make pixie defenders significantly better than most, on flat surfaces. Hover directly above their mark and it has to move multiple squares to get out of range. Not sure how I feel about that, truth be told.
