Indeed. My aproach to healing is that a dead healer heals no one. So having a shield to stay alive and adv on con saves to maintain buffs/debuffs is definitely a better choice in my opinion.
Cleric would be my choice too. Guidance is OP. If your DM isn't afraid to kill off a few players in battle like ours then Spare the Dying is essential. Mending and Light have a lot of utility applications if used correctly.

Hi! I would of though a sorcerer in deed would be able to see himself. Even if not completely but it would still suggest that you can use Bend Luck on yourself. If a ally is in 3/4 cover you can still use it on her. So why not yourself?
The guy died with an utter terror on his face. But like I said he was a psychic user and dying by taking psychic dmg every round will he dues with his wis save is highly unlikely.
