I am not a min/max type......I like the flavor so as long as I don't break/bend any rules I would just play it for the character concept flavor.

Hehe it's me J-man Don :P My original concept was taking the full -6 LA for the character and the dire ape......Awakening the beast may account for his softer side...

So....why not just awaken the Dire Ape (lvl adj -6) give him the Leadership feat and a lvl 2 druid. Effect character level 8?

I like the awakened idea except that the spell states An awakened animal can’t serve as an animal companion, familiar, or special mount. But so far I like some of the suggestions

I agree that they should get at least pertial XP for this. Sometimes stopping the baddies without killing them is harder. Even if they didn't totally eliminate the threat they have thwarted their plans and at the very least forced them into a retreat.

Yo.....I am 30 years old and just now getting into DnD......so far so good. My buddy recommended this site as a good place to get to know the rules and such. I have been lurking for a little while now and I finally decided to register. So...........here I am.
