I don't why, but it kinda makes me uncomfortable...

Obviously, you should be careful around escalators.

But statistically speaking, escalators and elevators are the safest forms of motorized travel you will ever use. They have the lowest injury rate of any transportation. They're safer than cars, planes, or just about any just about any other way you could travel.

Worry less about a couple extreme outlier events. If you want to be safe, you're better off driving less.

My paternal grandfather was a building maintenance man in New York City. He died falling down an elevator shaft...

I think why people are so disturbed is because of the fact that we think of escalators as harmless. There was an incident in Thailand recently where a woman I believe had her leg amputated after getting caught in an elevator (possible I am wrong on the outcome but I recall that is how it was reported). Every so often you hear these horror stories and it just reminds people something can go wrong on these things that we think of as 100% safe (even if it is exceedingly rare).

On Elevators I have been in too many stuck elevators to trust them. And too many elevators with expired inspection stickers. I take the stairs every time (healthier for you too)

It feels like few things show the true values of a pizza reviewer as well as the ratio of how much a topping combination upsets them to how much that combination affects them. Maybe some adjustment based on how hard they ride the slippery slope could be included.

Well, you know I am an unbiased pizza reviewer because I don't even eat pizza anymore.

Besides, I prove my love for pizza by pointing out its faults. Continually. In every single comment I make. After all, isn't that the only true way to show you love something .... by spending all your time pointing out how terrible it is?
