This talk about Myers-Briggs reminded me of an old D&D survey that would generate your "character sheet" by asking you questions. Apparently it would use the game rules for things like holding your breath to figure your Constitution score and lifting weights to back-calculate your Strength, ethics questions to determine your alignment, that old outdated IQ test to determine Intelligence, etc.

I couldn't find it with a cursory Google search, but I remember being unimpressed with it. Literally: the real-world me is not an impressive D&D character. No magical ability, 10 or 11 in almost every stat, only proficient with medium armor (I've worn football pads before), two whole levels of Expert, that sort of thing.
Well there was this post from 8 years ago:

Back in my college years I ran a short-lived Space Opera campaign, in which the players were statted-out as themselves. The premise was that present day Earth was invaded by the Korellian Empire. Humans were captured for use as slaves, such as Janissary style soldiers. This got around the "less than stellar" stats issue because Space Opera provided points for stat improvement, based on training in your profession. This resulted in reasonably good numbers, though hardly godlike. What I didn't tell them was that I gave them all a 17 score in Psionics, which was just below starting the game with them. Korellians have Psi tech that involves embedding crystals in the forehead, with each one granting a +1 in Psi score. One crystal and they'd have been "awakened." Never got to that point.

Not on ENWorld. And also not a he.
Oh, wow. Just realized who you were talking about, I think. That is certainly a bold attempt at reinvention without, yeah, any acknowledgement that this might not be the person you want to entrust with your money or mental health.

Also, the WayBack Machine hits for that domain are quite the ride.

There's also the old saw about logic, reason, and empathy.

Something like: "There's no appeal to logic or reason you can make to someone who does not value logic or reason that will convince them they should value logic or reason."

The same applies to empathy.

That's where most of the recent "discussions" break down. Two people digging in where one of them clearly lacks empathy blithely dismissing appeals to empathy. You're simply talking past each other. Nothing you can say will get them to suddenly care about other people when they simply don't care about other people. "But their jobs" vs "I don't care." "But their livelihoods" vs "I don't care." "But their homes" vs "I don't care." "But they're using child labor" vs "I don't care." "But they're using slave labor" vs "I don't care." Some people simply lack the capacity for empathy.

Though I should note there are sometimes elements of "This really horrendously bothers me" where a not inappropriate response is "Okay, but what you want would horrendously bother me, so don't expect me to follow you there."

I made a guess and wow…that’s hilariously insane.

No joke, that's quite similar to Villains & Vigilantes recommended character generation system, although no one I ever played with actually used it in place of rolling dice for base stats.
