WotC has announced some changes to D&D Beyond's marketplace. These include physical products (for US customers), the removal of à la carte purchases, and various navigational changes.

You can no longer buy individual feats, subclasses, etc. -- you'll need to buy the whole book. The full list of changes includes:
  • US shoppers can now buy physical books
  • More info on product listings, including previews
  • UI improvements to makee finding your purchased content and redeeming keys easier
  • No more à la carte purchases (though your previous ones still count)

Not too surprised, though a bit disappointed to see a la carte going away from old books without notice. I was literally about to pick up Strixhaven spells since there were a few I just realized I'd like to be able to use but wasn't interested in the rest of the book. If I had been given a "last call" I probably would have pulled the trigger last weekend when I first debated those spells.

The Beyond Marketplace has been updated with a bunch of features described in this article.
The ability to filter out things you've already purchased seems to have been removed. How am I supposed to know which virtual dice I need to spend real money on to complete my set now?

Hard to spin that article as a positive.
No. It is negative. But that is what happens if they appease haters on youtube who were constantly ranting about microtransactions. So they took down a good feature (which probably did not genrate a lot of money, probably none or less), to make sure youtubers can't tell the microtransaction tale.

there is always the VTT, the whole microtransaction thing is 95% about the VTT, not DDB
That's purely more rumors and guesswork. A thing which doesn't exist, and which we have no details about, will have microtransactions because...reasons?

They had microtransactions. THESE were the microtransactions. They just removed them. The VTT is planned to be part of DNDBeyond. Right now, they model they're demonstrating is not microtransactions. So what is the evidence they will have microtransactions in the VTT and where do you get your 95% number?

As you can see from Mamba, people will still tell the microtransaction tale and slap a claim on it that 95% of it is about this future thing which doesn't exist yet and which has no announced details as if we know that's the truth. There is no appeasing people when they latch on to a rumor from a guess based on clickbait spin.

I do not need reasons for why it would have them to tell you that the whole microtransaction talk is about the VTT

They had microtransactions. THESE were the microtransactions.
not to me, nor do I expect the topic to now disappear

The VTT is planned to be part of DNDBeyond.
huh? where is that from? Ultimately irrelevant however

Right now, they model they're demonstrating is not microtransactions.
because that is what they would showcase…

So what is the evidence they will have microtransactions in the VTT and where do you get your 95% number?
as I said, I need no evidence, this is about what fuels the microtransaction discussion, not the VTT itself. As to the 95%, I expect the mt discussion to basically not be affected by this and continue as is, hence the 5% impact of this on it
