    Bard is spoiled!

What I'm thinking is that a half-elf paladin with that +1d6 barbarian power and the Ranger and Rogue multiclass feats could pump out a lot of spot damage 1/encounter.

Can a warlord "heal" an unconscious character

There are only a tiny handful of RPG systems that are diceless, whether narrative or not. It's not nearly enough to count as "often".

    Playing 4e "Old School"

As far as as I've seen, the basic thrust seems to be a monster with generally normal stats for its level, one or two basic special abilities (nothing too complex, since the GM might have to manage quite a few at once), 1 HP, and the static equivalent of average-low damage for its level.

    Barbarian is up!!!

How are you getting such high results?

    Invisible opponents.

Keep in mind that as per the errata, you know the square an invisible creature is in unless they actively make Stealth checks. (Which they can do at any time due to having continuous total concealment, but...)

    Barbarian is up!!!

Hmm... 30th-level minotaur barbarian, demigod, Strength 30, uses a mordenkrad +6 (2d8 brutal 1). Use a 29th-level daily for rage strike... 18d8 brutal 1 +16, so average 106 damage on a hit, or 53 on a miss, or average 181 on a crit... and this is all before feats and other magic items. Yeouch...

    Making places interesting/unique - DMing

Accents. Popular fashions. Street layouts—one might be rather chaotic, another could have intermittent but broad avenues, a third could have a strict grid of tiny streets, etc. Racial makeup—whatever the most common race is will have considerable effects on architecture and transportation...

    So...no Arcane Archer in 4e D&D??

    I rather like this approach.

Name one thing you love and one thing you hate about 4e D&D

Love: The basic "1/2 level + stat vs. defense" concept. Hate: The implicit economy... that said, it's something that's been horribly out-of-kilter in every version of D&D since the original.

    Does Bull Rush Deal Damage?

This, definitely; my paladin has done things so far like bull rush kobolds into pit traps, bull rush an attacking goblin straight into a bonfire, and bull rush a fey panther into a river. (Though not all in the same session - that would just be crazy. ;))

    Adventurer's Vault... I'm surprised!

Still works to give the fighter a backup wizard spell, though.

    Halflings?

The tiefling in my group gets lots of use out of it, but we also have a fire-spell-obsessed wizard. I like this idea.

    Pact Initiate Typo

The only consistent thing about Wizards CustServ answers is that they're inconsistent.

    4TH Edition,worst ever D&D?

These sorts of threads make me wonder how many of the 4e detractors have actually read the D&D books prior to 3e.

Onyx Dog vs. Bag of Tricks, Gray

No. A power that lists "Healing Surge" lets you get extra uses by spending surges. This is quite different from a daily power that requires you to spend a healing surge.

    PCs with too many scrolls?

You can put as many "scrolls" as you like on a suitable physical surface... but that doesn't keep each one from taking the full crafting time. Each "scroll" is going to take at least one day to make.

Rain of steel - too powerful?

I figured something along this line right in the middle of my last session... when the wizard had flaming sphere up at the same time the fighter activated rain of steel.

    Are rogues marginalized by magic?

You outlined the sort of view I have very eloquently, thanks. ;)
