MIAMI, FL: Gamer Looking for Game

Hello. I'd love to find any of the following games. So if you could use a player, please let me know. D&D 5E - Forgotten Realms - Ravenloft - Adventurer's Guild - Dark Sun Pathfinder Rifts - Palladium Rules - Savage Rifts (Savage World Rules)

    D&D 5E Armor in Next

Probably because magical armor isn't made solely for the use of Fighters and Paladins. Let's say that Clerics are limited to chainmail. If that's the case then that right there is a good reason why chainmail would get enchanted, so that Clerics could have a suit of magic armor. Leather is...

The (Non-)Playtest Experience, or How the Hit Die Mechanic was a Non-Starter

No kidding. Nobody was asking him to buy a book or commit to a longterm campaign. It was a one-off playtest.

    How should humans be human?

There's no parallel between different stats and members of the same race losing their racial abilities. Elf commoners don't lose low-light vision just because they're commoners. That's not an ability solely restricted to "Adventurer Elves." Why should human racials only be restricted to a subset...

    How should humans be human?

I agree with variant. There shouldn't be "Adventurer Humans" and "Regular Humans". That'd just be silly. Humans are Humans are Humans. For instance, whenever I used Commoners in 3E, they always got the racial human bonuses. I saw no good reason to deny them those. Only thing is that they used...

Question about encounter design in Mutants & Masterminds.

    Ok, so accoring to the Masterminds Manual, a group of four PL10 characters can fight the following encounters? ENCOUNTER 1 - 1 PL10 opponent - 2 PL9 opponents - 3 PL8 opponents - 6 PL5 opponents ENCOUNTER 2 - 4 PL 10 opponents ENCOUNTER 3 - 8 PL9 opponents ENCOUNTER 4 - 1 PL13...

Question about encounter design in Mutants & Masterminds.

Namely: How do you do it? Is there any set method other than "eyeballing it"? The encounter set-up in 4E, for instance, is pretty simplistic. A party of five 7th-level character can fight up to 1,500 XP worth of monsters. So they can fight five Level 7 Standard Monsters. Or one Level 5 Solo and...

So what's the most powerful combo in Rifts?

There was nothing in the South America books that outstripped the Splugorth, or even approached them. A Splugorth has supernatural PS 50 (doing 6d6 MD on a melee attack), 56,000 MDC, 13,000 PPE, 3,000 ISP, regenerated 2d6x10 MDC per minute, had the unlimited ability to teleport across...

Hero System Vs. Mutants & Masterminds. Which is the better super-hero game?

Hello, all. Thought I'd stop by and ask this question to see what the general consensus was. My gaming group has decided to start a superhero campaign using Hero System, although Mutants & Masterminds is potentially on the table, which would be my preference. Not because I know for a fact that...

So what's the most powerful combo in Rifts?

Yep. Any playable RCC with an OCC. For example, I thought I'd see what kind of beast I could come up with if I made, say, a Demigod Mega-Hero Experiment (Heroes Unlimited). I gave the guy Sonic Flight, Invulnerability, and Supernatural Strength, as well as the Mega-Hero powers of Tremendous SDC...

So what's the most powerful combo in Rifts?

Yeah, the Cosmo-Knight was pretty tough. I played one almost 10 years ago in a space-based Phase World campaign, back when playing the Palladium system didn't automatically cause me to break out in hives. Another crazy combo I heard of was a Demigod with a Heroes Unlimited martial arts class...

So what's the most powerful combo in Rifts?

I was thinking about the over-the-top craziness in Rifts and started wondering what the most powerful combo in the game is. So anyone know?

Next Deities & Demigods (now with poll!)

Are Cthulhu and the rest public domain? If so, then I'd love it if they were to be integrated into the core cosmology. How awesome would that be? We'd have the Gods, the Primordials, and the Great Old Ones all battling for supremacy.

Next Deities & Demigods (now with poll!)

Just because I like to keep track of this sort of thing... :p #1 Raven Queen [87] (Almost as many votes as #2 and #3 combined) #2 Asmodeus [48] #3 Ioun [41] #4 Bahamut [38] (Bahamut has moved up a space...) #5 Tharizdun [37] (...knocking Tharizdun down a peg.) #6 Torog [32] #7 Zehir...

Is C. J. Carella still around?

Yep, I loved his Rifts stuff. Who knew South America could be so interesting? But he made it so interesting that it warranted two books to cover it.

For those who haven't seen it, here's a pic of the Raven Queen. Or at least a pic of how she'll look if Orcus gets his way.

Next Deities & Demigods (now with poll!)

That remains to be seen, leastways until we see a couple more Domains of Dread, and if the Demiplane of Dread exists or not. A couple things, though: 1) Sunderheart getting formed was loud and ostentatious, with Sorrowsworn buzzing all around it. Have any domains in Ravenloft been pulled in...

Next Deities & Demigods (now with poll!)

It isn't so much an issue of having it ingame as seeing Pelor's name constantly appearing in 3E supplements. I remember reading a posters description of a recently released WotC book as "now having 400% more Pelor!". Something new would've certainly been nice.

Next Deities & Demigods (now with poll!)

That'd be a contradiction of established lore. Andral, a sun god, was the god that was worshipped at the time. The Holy Symbol of Ravenkind (which is crafted in the shape of the sun) was created by his church and ravens are associated with his worship. Come to think of it, it would've been...
