I have heard that Artificers are unbalanced or overpowered but from looking at the class I just dont see how they are? Can anyone shed some light upon this class for me?

Im having a little argument in my group. This question came up when we had a character stand as a free action. Does standing as a free action still cause AoO or doesnt it. Also is there a general rule saying free actions provoke AoO or that they dont? Thanks for the help.

Im trying to increase a weapons base damage while not increasing the weapon size (dont want that -2 modifer). I seem to remember an enhancment or special material that I can add to a weapon so it deals damage as if it was one size larger, 1d4 dagger to a 1d6 dagger for example. Any ideas? Thanks
