    L4W Discussion Thread V

question: how long do you have to wait in one game, that is going nowhere with no posting and a combat stalled in round 1. I would love to play, thats why I made a character, but alas, no playing being done in the game I chose, which I now regret. What is the protocol / etiquette for...

[Adventure] Trouble in Daunton (DM: Nebten, Judge: Currently Looking)

this sucks I had been having fun in this adventure, and I wanted to see it to its conclusion. What's worse, I see other games going strong, with its players posting regularly and frequently. I compare me choosing this game to picking the slowest check out line at the store. Is it time to...

ok, Im not ashamed to admit that sometimes i am as dumb as a bag of hammers, but i see several black lines in seemingly random locations on the map (F4, D5, etc.) I am going to ignore these as if they are markers from some other use of the same map if that's ok ???? if they are snakes or death...

as the party stands around the open secret door, Joe, implying a lack of viable intel on the whereabouts of the kidnappers, somewhat mockingly says to Vayne, "what's the worst that could happen" then follows behind her down the 25 foot hall

The clearly exasperated young rouge throws his hands into the air before starting to search for some clue as to the kidnappers path of escape.

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

I am in NO way trying to question your methods in general, or disuade you from your style of play, but the highlighted portion of your comment has me somewhat baffled. Why <how do you play> do surges require some sort of special narrative or "story bending" ?

I hate to metagame, but if someone else - someone with higher dungeoneering or nature or something to track these guys wants to go first, now woul dbe the time to step up. ?dm? again, any signs of blood, sweat, tears, or other disturbances that would make any indication that a group of people...

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

so basically whatI get out of this is that fantasy RPG has a vastly superior health care system. While the cleric may charge for a clw or a csw, etc...it is immediate and on the spot. Wait until the clerics figure out how much profit they can make by getting in bed with the alchemists, the...

meaning it is not holding said corpse??? "This has to be it" Joe says. Joe reaches inside the hollowed eye socket for a button, switch, tiny lever, or, worst case scenario, the finger trap of hideous death.

shaking his head in frustration and disgust, Joe moves to check out the other tomb, such that it is, wondering how the kidnappers got away.

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

I just wanna say that I am a little shocked that the "hit-point-getter-backer" discussion still rages. Like I said, I am of the opinon that if you are going to buy into the idea of spells, orcs, psionics, dragons, divine callings, demons and devils and angels and elementals, and knocking a...

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

I got it! instead of healing surges, or my first suggesstion "hit-point-getter-backers" they should be called vitality reserves. Also - I dont get the whole "lack of realism" when the preferred method would be a small stick shooting out a ray of magical energy or a guy calling down divine...

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

I think healing surges are fantastic. and as mentioned before in paraphrase, they are the "real hit points". I don't even mind the name, what else would you call them? "hit-point-getter-backers" ???

Wotc online monster builder can build monsters from scratch.

I guess i see what you are saying, but i have never been in a position where I had to "stat up" a monster on the spot. Like I had said, I am usually well ahead of the party by several encounters, and I always have a plan b up my sleeve. I come up with the cool idea for a monster and usually...
