Is the only way to kill a full vampire to get it to 0 hit points and force it into mist form, and then destroy its resting place so it cannot reform? Is there any other way?

Bought the hi res map from Mike's website and had it printed out on nice paper in 3' X 5' format. Quite pricey, but well worth it! Still need to determine whether to get it framed, and if so, what type of frame.

Speaking of Giant Badgers, they were featured in a battle in an Adventurer's League module that was played at our FLGS last night. 4 Tables were playing the same mod, and at least one PC was killed by a badger at each table!

Well, it was over 30 years ago that we played that mod. However, I recall under the rules of that edition that once a Wall of Stone was put up, it was permanent. They truly left afterwards, and I thought the mod indicated that if left alone, the Lich doesn't bother PCs.

Your "opinion" is wrong, according to the rules of 5E. As a comparison, a gorilla in 5E has an intelligence score of 6. No rational human being could believe that Sherlock Holmes has less intelligence than a gorilla.

When I ran D1, the as soon as the party figured out it was a lich they "wall of stoned" the cave entrance, left promptly and never looked back. Ever.

I am using this extensively in my 5e Campaign based out of Neverwinter. One of the best Realms sourcebooks of any edition.

Wrong. A high Charisma doesn't necessarily correlate to good looks. In fact, there are many people who are incredibly attractive that cannot talk their way out of a paper bag. Likewise, some of the most charismatic people in history (Hitler, Napoleon) are so ugly that they could knock a dog off...

I agree with both Devin and Tony. I was just relaying what was said by the developer. I think it was Crawford. One of my first houserules was to do away with this.

This is actually RAW for locks. Under the description for locks in the PHB, it states that one needs a proficiency in thieves tools to attempt a dex check to open the lock.

You are calling for WAY too many dice rolls. Only call for dice rolls when there is uncertainty.

This was asked of the developers on twitter shortly after the basic rules came out. They said it would have to be an hour of fighting to interrupt the rest.

In one of the appendices of the book, there is a replacement background feature which does almost the same thing.
