Could you make it so it goes on indefinitely ?? (I like the way you did it, my formula was similar to your formula, but what I am having a problem with is making it extend indefinitly, I prefer to give exp for CR's +/- 7 or more away from level) (I still cant see how to make it extend...

The more I atempt to create a function in excel for experience, the more I dont think it can be done properly without using excels visual basic (because in any formula i create so far, i need "looping" or recursion, unless i wanna use a million "IF" statements) and excel doesnt handle those that...

What Programming launguage you want it in ( Excell, C, C++, VB, Java, .NET, APL, Cobal, Pascal, etc.., etc...), There are allot of programmers here at enworld (including myself), we could create a function for it in almost every laungage there is, depends on how ya want it :)

I sent wotc an email, asking them basiclly how they calculated the exp. I attached a spreadsheet to it that shows allot of the devations (i noticed the epic chart messup also, there is another one, lvl 34 party and cr 37 = 27,200 not 27,000), also did you notice that when you combine the two...

On this page http://arcady0.topcities.com/Encounter_Calculator.html it uses this formula to calculate exp, Attached as an txt file is the function: as you can see, the main formula doesnt work for the whole chart so he went through and had to manually enter the xp award for certian Lvls & Crs

I attempted to solve this before, its somewhere on the boards, but the formula we came up with, still had devations. Has anyone tried email wotc and asking them for an answer ?? or maybe emailing the sage for some help ??

I dont really expect any wotc person to answer, the exp table isnt open to the public, and why give away the secret, when people can go buy the book, it would be nice, but it isn't gonna happen :( still, i had to at least try asking.
