What are the best, all time, classic adventures?

This thread is to nominate the best 1st ed AD&D adventure modules. This excludes OD&D, B/ED&D (Companion, Masters and Immortals box sets, as well as the Rules Cyclopedia); 2nd ed AD&D and 3.0/3.5/D20 D&D, which will be covered in other threads.

The focus is on for sale, free-standing adventures. Hence this thread excludes modules from Dragon, Dungeon, and other magazines (unless reprinted as a stand alone product) or ones that where only released as part of a rules supplements or campaign setting (with one special exception).

D1
D2
G1
G2
G3

they belong separate.

edit: for me after waiting years for its release... T1-4 which should've been T2...was a huge disappointment. i lost all respect for its author at the time.
edit2: and the release of UA too confirmed my disappointment.

Would D1 be classic, and D2 not? Just as long as it doesn't skew the results...

which is why T1 is seperate from T1-4...

My 10 faves...

D1-2 Descent into the Depth of the Earth
D3 Vault of the Drow
G1-2-3 Against the Giants
I1 Dwellers of the Forbidden City
L1 Secret Bone Hill
S1 Tomb of Horros
S3 Expedition to the Barrier Peaks
S4 Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth
WG4 Forgetten Temple of Tharizdun
T1 Village of Hommlet

I generally think that the A-series and Tracy Hickman's I-series adventures are overrated, but not bad.

Much of the stuff that came out at the very tail end of 1e's existance is utter dog-poop. The two that come to mind immediately are WG7 Castle Greyhawk and FRC1 Ruins of Adventure. You get the sense that, knowing 2e was about to come out, they weren't trying very hard anymore on the 1e stuff.

And a note, the FR-series were sourcebooks and not adventures, at least during the 1e years.

but D1-2 was another product released. so was G1-2-3. true they were similar.

so was S1-4... which is not classic. even tho, individually they are. these things should not be tied together.
