D&D 4E 4e newbie seeks guidance on combat flow

Hi, all:

After looking around on Google, etc., for guidance, I'm coming to the forums in hopes that someone here will have the time and inclination to help me answer some basic gameplay questions about 4e.

I have played a lot of 2e, but am not sure how to apply different powers and abilities in the midst of 4e combat to proper effect. For example, how do different bonuses stack with deft strike? How does Sneak Attack combine with different bonuses or other abilities?

Really, what I probably need is about 10 minutes of a kind GM's time - if someone might guide me toward a chat room or similar, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

I'd be happy to help, but can't do the chat thing. What sorts of stuff are you having problems with? What kind of bonuses are you talking about in regards to deft strike, for example?

Thanks for the replies, all. I got some help offsite from a gracious ENWorld denizen, and now understand better how to apply the different types of actions in proper sequence. The trick now is to translate these possibilities into a smart array of macros. /wrists
