Johanna gave a frustrated growl. "Move in or move back! I can't help if I'm stuck back here!"

[sblock= OOC] Full defense again, since she can't get close enough to make an effective attack [/sblock]

OOC: It would provoke an opportunity attack from both of the swarms, but Johanna can move through party members to get to the front, assuming they didn't change feature that in the errata.

A Fight in the Muck: Round 1

Vimak lashes at the mass of mutated creatures before him. He manages to wound a few, but the sheer mass deadens the blow. At the same time, the mass of them nip at the goliath[Hit S1, 4 damage after swarm resistance. Before his attack, swarm gets aura attack: Hit for 11 damage and 3 ongoing.]

Torqua attempts to launch an attack in retaliation, but is stymied. It lands harmlessly in the muck. [Miss]

Lhavarr is to surprised to act, and to distracted to fight off the infection crawling up his arm. His left elbow begins to feel off. [Save fails]

Johanna vents her frustration, but continues to hold her place.

The mass of lizards bite at all around them, though Vimak's magic allows him to attempt to defend himself: His slash, however, is hasty and they spill around it. Luckily for the half-elf, the pipe protects him from the ones nipping at him, and the goliath's sturdiness is enough to inure him to the wound, but a host of sharp teeth score Sapo's tender flesh, dragging her down to one knee before she can fight them off. The grip on her staff is slick with the mix of muck and her blood. One of them steps back into the shadows.[Aura attacks of swarm attack Lhavarr & Sapo twice, Vimak once. Vimak gets an OA first vs S1: Misses. The swarms miss Lhavarr twice, Vimak once, and Sapo twice, but hit her two other times for 20hp and 3 ongoing, bloodying her. S2 shifts.]

In the back, the shadowy lizards again make a foul noise, and more globs of acid fly towards the party. One hits Vimak on his bitten shoulder, stinging painfully. The other, however, lands on Sapo's wounded leg. The sudden blood loss is too much, and she slumps into the muck. [Both attacks hit. 11 to Vimak, 10 to Sapo. Sapo is dying.]

The misformed eye of the other creature blinks once and it hunkers down, ready. [Readies an attack]

[/sblock]Moving from sewer to land and vice-versa costs and extra square. The barrel provides cover. Currently, most of the party is in a pipe; you must move to E4/5 before moving elsewhere in the room; when Torqua does this, the rest of the room will be illuminated. Until then, the room (except for the center pillar) is dark (concealment).

Combat Rules
Actions will be handled in posting order; I will bot folks that don't post within a day using at-wills only. I will post info about the monsters as discovered.

Elkrysn shakes his head as he loses his daze from looking upon the strange lizards, all completely visible to him, even in the darkness. Although worried about the "thing" by the barrel, he determines that the slightly wounded swarm gnawing on the bullywug's unconcious body may be a greater problem at the moment. After wrapping the swarm in darkness, he lets loose a dark purple flame towards it in an attempt to reveal its weakness to his allies. He then fires an arcing polychromatic bolt at the swarm, but the bolt doesn't seem to want to stay in one place. During the distraction, he hurriedly retreats backwards.

From the back of the group comes as strange alien song as Torqua beings to sing magical music. And as she does so, the wounds on Sapo's body begin to heal.
Once the bloated bard has done all she can, she summon another bolt of acid and throws it at the monster blocking their path, scoring a direct hit on the vile thing.

OOC: Using my daily power Majestic Word as a minor action to heal Sapo. Sapo can spend a healing surge and get a bonus 3 on to of that. Also she can slide one square.

Then I'm using Acid Orb against S1, getting a Crit Hit for 22 Acid damage.

1d20+5=25

Acid Damage 18 + 4 bonus damage due to staff.
1d6=4

Sapo Toa gurgles as she sinks in the sewers, wounded beyond help. Just as she closes her eyes, the magical song from the sorceress rescues her from the slumber of death. Revitalized, the Bullywug springs into motion with more energy than ever. She remains down to cover from the spits of the shooting lizards however.
The toad moves through the water as if in her home, and jumps out of the water, in a storm of blows, kicks, hacks, punches and tong slaps, to fall into the mud again, safe for now.

[sblock=Actions(a lot of them)]Spend a healing surge to regain 10 hp thanks to Torqua (Thanks mate!) then use second wind to regain 7 hp more and +2 to defenses. Move to F4 (remain prone to +2 AC vs ranged attacks) and use Masterful spiral, Daily close burst 2 spending an AP. Roll:
Surely hits the mutant eye-lizard for 17 dmg, miss the other two likely, but they still suffer 8 dmg plus their vulnerabilities to bursts.
Sapo Toa now gains reach 1 with melee touch attacks.[/sblock]

ooc: VV, I think you should be at 17 HP. If your HP are below zero when you are healed, you ignore the negatives -> they get added to 0.

Johanna stepped forward into the space the drow had left. She gave a out a loud, wordless shout of fury that echoed in the tight confines of the tunnel, then lashed out with her spear, trying to kill off a few more of the swarming lizards.
