Fimble blindly stumbles towards Anton. He fumbles a bit for his glasses, and then quickly puts them on his face. He blinks a bit and then notices the newcomer. He jumps, a little startled, and straightens his cloak, then throws it back regally, puffing his chest out. "Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons the Third, illusionist extraordinaire, at your service!" The bespectacled gnome looks up at the tall, battle-ready human. "I must say, I am quite glad of your arrival, my friend. Though I trust the company implicitly, we were sorely lacking a man of combat prowess, such as yourself." He scans the warrior with scholarly eyes. "Yes, I am indeed glad to call you 'friend', friend." Fimble bows and then winks, "And since we're friends now, I suppose I shall allow you to call me Fimble McGee, like everyone else does. Though I suppose that if I didn't wish to be called that name by you, I wouldn't be able to do much about it, eh?" Fimble grins and moves to the side of the wagon to watch the scenery drift by.

Drath snaps the reigns and the wagon groans as it moves forward with a jolt. Charles has a minor struggle remaining standing as he moves forward to reclaim his place on the bench. The wagon passes through the city fortifications and is officially on the road to Fallon, city of falls.

"we were sorely lacking a man of combat prowess, such as yourself."

Drath grunts, "Humph! Ye make him sound like an ogre made of steel! He doesn't look that tough!"

"Now that we have left the city I can give you more specifics on our venture!" Charles yells from up front, "As some of you know or probably have guessed, my family is Hendralian. Four generations back, we held title to some of the most beautiful land in the entire Realm. Our name had stake to that land for years, and our ancestors built a large keep atop the tallest hill in the center of the valley. We ruled the land with stern clenched fist, for the glory of our people. We raised our families there for over 200 years. It is our heritage."

"During the war with Medibaria, my great grandfather led part of the realms army in the siege of Nerv. It was that siege that turned the tide of the war in Medibaria's favor, and ultimately forced the Realm to recall its forces. My family name was dishonored and the government seized our possessions. We left Hendralia in disgrace."

"My great grandfather wore a large amulet around his neck. His father gave it to him upon his death, as his had done before. The amulet was passed down between the heads of the family from before the keep was built. It was a symbol of our rite. When we were forced to leave our land, the Baron to be took the amulet from my great grandfather and claimed it as his own. My great grandfather, injured from battle, was too weak to resist the new Baron."

Charles's eyes narrow and his hands close into fist. "The family that now holds domain over what use to be ours passes down that amulet just as mine did. They did it to mock my family name in front of those who once served us. Now it is just a tradition. The current Baron of the former Armgill estate will be in Tharol for the festival. My family can never return to Hendralia to reclaim our land, that I know. That amulet, however, is one little piece of what we use to be that I can win back for my family's honor. I intend to do whatever it takes to do just that."

When Charles finishes his story he seems almost lost in a daydream. Drath nudges him a little, and he seems to mildly snap back. "For now, though, we are to get these Vestermarch goods to our buyers in Fallon. We usually use the Five Points Caravan to move our goods, but I convinced my father to allow me to move them in my warwagon. He thinks we are comming home from Fallon. If he knew of my plans, he would do everything in his power to stop me. That is why we had to be somewhat secretive back in the city. I know it will get back to him considering our post in the Inn. But I hope to get far down the road before that happens. We are going to use the money we make with these goods to continue on to Thoral from Fallon, and prehaps hire a few more hands for the journey. We will not stop to camp tonight. I want to get some distence covered. We will sleep in shifts and rotate drivers. While Drath can handle the animals by himself, I have to have some assistence to keep them under control. Prehaps Anton or Atremis will be of assistence when that time comes?"

"Yer mad boy! Driving this thing at night will be no small task! Ye best take over now and let me take over when the sun sets."

Fimble's face grows sterner and more sour as Charles talks. At the end of his speech, Fimble gives a little "Hmph!" His back against the side of the wagon, Fimble leans his forehead against his quarterstaff, eyes staring ahead. He stands pensively for a bit and then says, "So, what was at first a simple escort for a merchant has become a scheme to steal an heirloom from a family that has held it for two centuries, am I right?" Fimble's eyes narrow as he stares at Charles, waiting for a response.

"I certainly hope not." Fimble grunts again and turns around, watching the scenery float by, though this time he frowns. His glasses slide down his nose, and he doesn't seem to notice. Lost in thought, Fimble remains silent for a while.

Artemis looks over at Drath. "Looks can be deceivin, ol boy."

As Charles talks, Artemis' facial expressions do not change. As Charles finishes his speech, Artemis seems to begin to move, slightly. After what seems like forever, Artemis looks at Charles and says, "So, what you are tellin me is that mah skin might get roughed up a bit cause you gots a lifelong fued goin on 'tween you and that yellah bellied Baron?" Artemis' speech become much worse that madder he seems to get. "And wha if we don't wanna help ya get back tha amulit? Ah meen, whadaya want us ta do?" And with that, Artemis begins his daydream state again, almost collapsing from what looked like a very taxing and draining conversation for him.

Charles chuckles at the groups discomfort, "Ol' boy. heh. I didn't bring you along to help me get the amulet from the 'yellah bellied baron.' I hired you all to get me there and get me back. I will be the one to get that amulet back, and I will allow no one to interfer with my goal."

"I know what ye are all thinking. I'm a thinking it meself. I've told the boy this whole thing was madness." Charles looks very shocked and angry at Drath's unexpected remark, but before he can respond Drath holds up a hand. "But I've gotta admire his courage. Goin all the way to Tharol just to win back some family pride. He's set on it too. And with that being the case, I plan ta see him through it. I know ya think we shoulda been more forward to ye all about this thing, but he woulda nerer got outta town if his father knew what was hiddin up his ruffled sleeve. Just see us to Fallon. If ye won't go further than that, we can get ya a ride with the five points back here. You'll still get your 50 gold for the trip too."

Hanging in there. Better than the alternative.

Anton scratches his head, "Wait, what is that? I was to understand that the scheme is to steal the heirlom for the family that held it for two centuries. The current owners have had it for maybe a generation, no? Am I mistaken, Charles?"

"I would imagine that Artemis would be better suited for the task, but I will glad to attempt if need be." Anton tips his hat.
