Lilli mutters something unladylike under her breath as she feels the shackles tighten once again about her mind. She launches a magical strike at the nearest gargoyle, inflicting a mental image of a rain of chisels flying upon the creature from her orb.

Lilli launches an Illusory Ambush at the nearest Gargoyle (#3).

Both of the gargoyles crumble under Artemis and Lilli's attacks.

Oops, totally missed the Slow! It's sheer chance that he only moved 2 squares... He did not save, and I've updated the status.

Both gargoyles are dead.

Shale once more uses his power to bend space. Moss and rock turn inside out aroun the creature, who twists under the psionic attack.

[sblock=actions]standard action: Dimension scramble, unaugmented, centered at F17. If an attack against Fort 21 is enough to hit the patron, it deals 8 damage and teleports it to G15.

If it's not a hit, and since he's still slowed, I'll use a minor action to use the Living Missile secondary attack to move him to I16

Stumbling to a knee, Gil takes a moment to breath, and apply pressure to his most grievous wounds. Holding out his orb, Gil screamed HO*ack* coughing the spell to failure, Gil doubled over in pain.

*I can't stay here, it'll kill me.* thinks Gil looking for an escape, finding the portal close, he doesn't hesitate for a moment. Dragging his battered body into the vortex, and out again, Gil makes his way toward the cliffs edge.

Artemis! shouts the scholar in the bloody and shredded velvet purple robes, Heads UP! a vial of curative elixir flies into the air, aimed directly for Artemis. I think I need to lay down... says Gil, to anyone close enough to hear. Everything is spinning, and...

Gil's winged horde once again flutters uselessly around the devil as he dives through the portal and reappears next to his friends. Artemis' Patron retaliates by throwing out a hand and causing ghostly chains to appear around the entire group. It chuckles as it tightens its fist and the chains close in... but they pass right through Shale and Artemis, who are able to see them as illusions. Lilli is still vulnerable from the psychic shackles and falls for the illusion, feeling the chains tighten claustrophobically around her.

And Bob breaks, screaming, and flees as fast as the ghostly chains will let him, staggering onto the rickety bridge and cowering against the wall when he has stumbled as far as he can go.

Artemis' patron floats majestically above the rocky outcropping where Shale's evocation left him, laughing.

The red square is difficult terrain for enemies of Artemis' Patron.

The white numbers on the floor are the height of each ledge. The door opens onto a ledge 15' above the lowest point of the floor (so 10' above the floor below it, which is itself 5' above the lowest point).

The rickety bridges are difficult terrain (including the one that's fallen). The two that are intact are held up by scaffolding reaching to the floor below, which can be climbed with a DC 15 Athletics check as a Move action.

The green patches of moss are difficult terrain. The pools of water are thigh deep (chest-deep on Lilli) so they are difficult terrain and, if anyone moves into a water-filled square, it takes a DC 10 Athletics or Acrobatics check to avoid falling prone due to the slippery moss at the bottom of the pool. (The demon is immune since the chains supporting it are so long, but it still counts as difficult terrain.)

The vortexes are explained in the Arcana block above.

Shale doesn't even flinch when the chains pass through him, or pays attention to ayone else in the group. Advancing towards the creature, the orb on his hand shines once again and a spark cracks next to the group's foe, rapidly growing in size. Jolts of electicity run through the devil's chains, magnetizing them and making the whole thing a mess. While the creature can still move, it takes a great deal of concentration and effort.

Lilli gasps in pain as she staggers along the wall towards the vicinity of the nearby vortex. She tries casting a spell, but the pain from the creature's magic scrambles her concentration. She finds time to catch her breath, though; the touch of the rock seems to comfort her and she recoils from it slightly surprised.

Something deep inside Gil snapped the moment Bob was injured, it takes a few moments to build, and then explodes in a shower of vehemence! FACE ME DEMON! I AM WEAK AND CLOSE TO DEATH! and as the hatred poured from Gil's mouth, so too did a swarm of heinous ice mephits, the horde both held the demon, and pierced him with lancets at once.

Gil gives a questionable gesture to the creature as he prostrates himself, Eat me. says the young scholar, as a gout of blood spurts from his arm.

In his near death panic, he remembers the sparks flying from his mage hand earlier, as they looked like the colors floating in his vision as he bled out. With a gesture, a spectral hand once again forms, taking one of Gil's flasks and delivering it to Artemis. Artemis, the water, the water... says Gil softly, waiting for the demons approach.
