Round 2 – Beach Party

Finnean hearing a fresh wave of zombies coming at him, Finnean quickly gains his feet, he then draws his dagger with his off-hand and whips it at the zombie in the lead. The dagger embeds itself up to the hilt in the zombie's shoulder, causing it the flinch from impact of the blow.

Jesse gets up on his feet, only to see a horde of zombies making a beeline to his group. "I shall put you to rest, spawn of evil!" Jesse cried. As he said this, a hellhound bursts out from the sand and bites down hard on one of the Dead Ones. The illusion continues to dog the zombie, distracting it with snarls, snaps and nips.

Cyrus hunches down into a more aggressive stance as he rolls back to his feet from the crash against the beachhead. He slings both of his blades out and the lunges at the staggered foe. His blade cutting the Dead One's leg tendons deeply causing the Dead One to buckle and hit the ground.

Ixenvalignat shakes the sand from his scales, "Alright you jihl di loex yobolat! Time for you to continue your journey to the other side!" The dragonborn charges to the front burying his

The hound vanished and the zombie turned to look for the voice. Finally it locked gazes with the tiefling.

The Dead One snarled at Jesse and rushed forward.

"SPADOW!" the illusionist whooped. A streak of silver smashed into the undead's face, shattering into thousands of smaller wisps.

The Dead One drops, it's face mangled. Well, more mangled than it was before.

With one of the zombies out of the way, Finnean decides to once again risk wading into the thick of things. The dead one swipes at the halfling with a claw, but Finnean twists out of the way, causing the zombie to narrowly miss him. In a better position, Finnean lashes out at the zombie, but he is too eager and the zombie blocks the attack. Finnean notices however that this puts the zombie in an awkward position to dodge a second strike, and his rapier pierces the chest of the zombie. With a moment's thought, Finnean's armor flares with powers, slightly warping the edges of his form at a distance.

*Cyrus darts and weaves through the flurry of blows. He glances over to Ixen and gives him a stern nods right before dashing off through the sandy beach. He docks and weaves past the gravely injured Dead One Minion. He hands moving with the speed of lightning pull out a vile of poison that was tucked into his sleeve and coat his blades. He rushes up to and past the Dead One within the middle grouping slamming his knee cap with his dagger as he passed by causing the zombies to fall to the ground with a heavy thunk. He continued to streak at the beach towards the wight. Charging the wight with all his might attempting to gut him through and through. Only to have the wight simply sidestep him.*

GM: So I think we need to make a decision. It's obvious that Ardens (Circio) is out, and now it's been a while since Damien (DemonicJester) has posted. I've even NPC'd him once.

If I have Damien fade into the background, that'll leave your party with 4 PCs. I can possibly recruit a 1st level PC from the tavern, or you guys can go with 4. Let me know what you want to do (I'll NPC Damien the remaining of this encounter).

OOC: I would like to see us get a defender if we could. We definitely need one.

Also if Damien could shoot and take out the Dead One Minion so that Cyrus doesn't get OA'ed and grabbed that would be awesome.

OOC: As a point of policy, I always like to encourage DMs to take replacement players if possible. However, I note that the tavern is pretty bare at level 1 just now. Maybe keep an eye out over the next week or two? You might also mention it in the discussion thread; there's often someone sitting on an unused 3rd character slot who would be willing to craft a character to fill out the list.

The zombie flanked by Ixen and Finnean focuses on the dragonborn warlord. It swings its arm at Ixen, just managing to connect.

The other zombie shambles towards Finnean, missing the agile halfling.

The surprised Wight shifts to the side, launching a bolt of necrotic energy at Cyrus, but the executioner avoids the attack. The wight then raises its hand and mumbles some arcane words, and the zombie that Cyrus felled, rises to join combat again.

The newly raised zombie stands from where Cyrus dropped it, and charges Cyrus while his back is turned, slamming into Cyrus and wounding him greatly.
