Adventure: Get Me to the Church on Time (DM: BenBrown, Judge: Renau1g)

Slightly entitled.
Seeing Eraden aiding Zardi and Goldenhorn, Graval moves toward Jarro instantly. With a subtle jab of his axe and some deft toe-tapping (for a dwarf), the fighter draws the bugbear to a more advantageous position.

"Ye get behind 'im an' show me whut tha inside o' his head looks like, ye treetrunk!" the dwarf shouts, hacking wildly at the bugbear, connecting yet again.[sblock=Actions]Move - L10 > L9 > L8

OOC: Ugg. Maybe I should read the other posts more closely, because that ready was a waste. :p

"BUMBACLUT!"
Spider screamed, with blood running down his face. Standing upright, Spider lashes out with the huge sword in a horizontal slash. Seeing his foe bleeding and reeling, Spider pressed the attack, raising the sword overhead and slicing down, cutting the creature's face in two.

The Slayer switched stances, ready to run to his next opponent.

OOC: Hopefully we killed it. Me and Graval did 67. DM, can we get a pulse over here? It its not dead, it must be close to dead, and we'll want someone else who wasn't acted yet to try and finish it off.

1. Lord Adelin Mallaby recruits me and some other adventurers from the Tavern. He asked for protection, on a trip to Allaria. He is to be wed to Elena of Terconis, daughter of the Count of Terconis. According to tradition, the wedding must take place at the ancient chapel of the Terconis family, and the chapel in Count's Crovale lies in the high hills of old Allaria. The lady and the Count are already there.
2. The adventurers board Starlight's Veil, Mallaby's brig. The ship is built for speed, not cargo or battle.
3. Intended Path: Land at Ristaren (100 miles south of Fromish), and make our way up the old highway to here. A mile or two off the highway is the village of Achirem, which is still thriving in the midst of rough country, so they say. From there we cross Derianis ridge, and then down to Crovale. The last part through the hills may be dangerous.
4. We land at Ristaren, and it is a small, poor town.
5. We killed a bunch of spiders.
6. We arrived at Achirem, where Kelvan told us to watch out for:
a. Bramble scar: some kind of trap/pit thing we can't avoid.
b. Hzaka Raiders
c. Ismene: Local robin hood bandit type. Lady, with a band of rugged ladies.
7. Get Jumped, or try to Jump, some Hzaka Raiders.

OOC: I just noticed that I hadn't taken into account the damage that Hobgoblin Longsword did to me, so I reported my hp as 15+3 in my stat block. I just edited to 10+3. Goldenhorn has since healed me, so I'm up to 17+3 temp as of now. Just wanted to make that correction...

Perin slides up against a large tree, and unleashes a blast of lightning at the now isolated hobgoblin, but the shot goes wide.[sblock=Perin's attack]Lightning Strike vs. Flail 1 (1d20+4=7, 1d8+7=15)[/sblock]"Concentrate fire!" the lead hobgoblin shouts. "Harak, get over here!"

The archer in the center steps to his left to get a better bead on Zardi, and one of the ones attacking Goldenhorn moves likewise to his right. Then all of the archers fire, three at Zardi, two at Goldenhorn. A rain of arrows flies through the air, mostly ending up stuck in tree trunks, as not a single shaft hits its target.

The Hobgoblin with the flail adjacent to Zardi tries to hit him again, and would have hit, had not the big barbarian adopted a defensive stance. One of the sword wielders breaks off and moves around the tree to strike at Zardi, and finally hits.

On the other side of the tree, the other remaining swords cuts Goldenhorn, then steps out of the way as his superior moves in and nearly gets the minotaur with his flail. But the blow does not tell.[sblock=enemy actions]Goblin 5

The brown circles are tree trunks, which are impassible and block line of sight.
The groups of brown rectangles are brush piles. They're difficult terrain to move through and standing behind them provides cover against ranged attacks.
The gold colored lines across the map are contour lines indicating a change in elevation. When moving uphill (towards the top of the map) they cost an extra square of movement to cross, except when on the trail (the swath down the middle of the map).

Mallaby is not a fully trained fighter. He will only defend himself on his own. He will however, follow orders.
As a minor action, any character can have Mallaby spend an action. He can't use more than the usual complement (standard, move, minor) in one turn, but a PC's minor action can be used for any of them.

OOC: Crap, I just realized that Goldenhorn has already gone this round, which means we all lost our bonuses from his "Rune of Mending" and "Divine Glow". (I'm assuming, anyway...how do you do rule EONT bonuses in a PBP game?) So my maths are all wrong. Luckily it doesn't change too much:

My attack vs. Flail 1 is now 19 vs. AC (still hits, thankfully) and 16 damage.
If that dropped him, my charge attack vs. Goblin 5 would also be 19 vs. AC. Damage doesn't matter since I believe it's a minion, but for the record it would now be 12.

This is my first play by post game ever, so I apologize for not getting all this right the first time...

Mewness

OOC: Actually under these rules (Mal's rules) you get an EONT bonus for your next turn, no matter what the order. The people who acted after Goldenhorn last turn should have gotten the bonuses on that turn, but not this one; the people who acted before Goldenhorn last get the bonuses this turn.
