ooc: who is the ally (at L5) to the left of max? I want to include him...or her in an attack against the northern sim maniac. Or, if Haruka's attack plans include moving closer to within 5 squares of the foe in question I can include her in an additional attack.

Primera glides over Dante and lashes at the maniac cutting into Dante. The strike is ephemereal and doesn't compare to steel weapons, but everyone can feel little rootlets covering their bodies harden even more. Even Max feels the protection of the spirit of virtue.

Renquist shifts away from the circling maniacs to engage the southern one. Much as the ranger has not recovered from the shard beast's magic, it appears that Renquist has not recovered either.

His blow at the maniac just misses.

"Ranger, by the will of Lauto, get up already!"

"Bard, do you have any reserves left to mend this corpse?"

Ashir continues to keep his sphere alive, but as he attempts to blast the archers with rays of ice, his concentration seems to begin to waver as the spell is well short of the targets.

Haruka smirks at the dwarf, "If I was able to take it, then it wasn't really yours." She spins on her heel and strides past Ashir towards the running archer. A wave of flame leaps from her hands and engulfs the elf.

Standard: Fiery Bolt the southern archer. Hits Reflex 27 for 19 fire damage and 8 untyped, 13 fire splash to anyone adjacent.

Yeah, Sacrifice to Caiphon + Infernal Pact go together pretty nicely. Sacrifice doesn't scale well though. Or rather, hp doesn't scale well. At level 1 Haruka had 30 hp, and would think nothing of using Sacrifice to keep her level 1 encounter power. At level 7 Haruka will have 61 hp, and using Sacrifice to keep her level 7 encounter power will cost her over 10% of her hp. So, good in heroic, not so much later on.

Also, there was a fight in which I missed, I think, three times with Fiery Bolt. That hurt.[/sblock]

Max pauses for a moment, the moves to the right of his target. He plunges his sword deep into the left side of the foe who cries in pain. Someone get on the other side of him and help me take this guy out!
