Merri flinches when the orcs rush in with their big pointy weapons and swing like madmen.

"Hey, you stop hurting my new friends!"

She hops down the slope toward the fighting, wondering why her friends aren't using the soil changes when it occurs to her that they might not see it.

"Everyone, look at the ground! The lilacs on the hill changed the soil, more up here where we are. If you just lean a bit, you'll slide over it easier! It'll make it harder to hit you."

Reaching the battle, Merri reaches out with her left hand, not with the rapier, and grabs near the orc. She makes a violent pull toward her.

Eva looks at the hill behind her. She exclaims, "Ooh, flowers! How pretty!" and then prances a few feet toward the lilacs.

OOC: [MENTION=88601]FourMonos[/MENTION], 20 hits, I've tried it on the map combat sheet and entered the damage. Merri gets thp...Illarion will not shift, unless defense bonus applies only after shift (and int that case he will shift forward and back again) :)
 

OOC: Drew recovers 19hp,shifts to R10 correction, Drew shifts to P11, when OB2 and OB3 stand they provoke OA from Drew with +2 CA and +1 Merri bonus for: +14+3 vs AC, Unarmed Strike, 1d8+6 damage and if any is killed, the other one takes 3 damage due to Rain of Hammers Ki focus


The monk uses the advice and the distraction provided by the exclamation to move out of the surrounding enemy box, but still threatening the orcs.

Papolstaanas springs to his feet in response to Joy’s music, his face creased in surprise. He shakes his head as though to clear it, and as he does so, a dry leaf flies up from the ground, adhering itself incongruously to the head of one of the attacking orcs.

“Ha!” says Papolstaanas, as much to reassure himself as to intimidate his enemies. He slashes quickly at one of the orcs, before assuming a defensive crouch.

Guardian’s Counter (interrupt): Triggers when an ally within 2 of Papolstaanas is attacked and Papolstaanas is not included. Papolstaanas and the ally shift 2 (swapping places), the attack is resolved against Papolstaanas instead, and afterwards Papolstaanas gets to make a basic attack (Overwhelming Strike) against the attacker.

Papolstaanas will use Guardian’s Counter to protect any vulnerable person in the group unless it’s likely to drop him.

Lightning Rush (interrupt):Triggers when an enemy within 5 of Papolstaanas targets an ally with an attack. Papolstaanas moves his speed to be adjacent to the enemy and attacks (+13 vs. AC, 2d8+6 damage; +1 to damage if he has CA). If it hits, the triggering attack is resolved against him rather than the intended target. (This is the augmented 2 version, which Papolstaanas will always use. If he doesn’t have power points, he won’t bother with this power.)

Papolstaanas will always use this on ranged attackers if he can get there without provoking (since it’s an interrupt, the ranged attack will provoke an OA from him as well).

Melee Basic Attacks: Papolstaanas uses Overwhelming Strike for OAs and granted melee basic attacks. Arranging the slides and shifts will be tricky, so I’ll try to post some guidelines on my turns.

Wrathful Warrior (no action): Papolstaanas gains 4 temp HPs the first time he is hit by a melee or close attack.

Blurred Step (free, 1/turn): Triggers when an enemy marked by Papolstaanas and adjacent to him shifts. Papolstaanas shifts 1.

Papolstaanas will follow his mark around if he can. If the mark is also his oath target, he will try to keep the oath active (i.e., maneuver so as not to be adjacent to other enemies).[/sblock]

OOC: Thanks Neurotic, I forgot I could do that on the combat tab. Also, the way I read the power, you get the bonus to AC if you shift or not.

Out of curiosity, anyone have any fire attacks?

The half-troll stumbles to his feet while the orcs in back push forward lobbing more burning globes into the back of the party.

The orcs swing their glaive, one wounding the blind elf and the other opening a nasty gash in Papolastaanas.
