As the group waits, it manages to make out the approaching sound - a mad giggling and muttering. Far ahead, about 200 feet, you can see a light moving in from the right, similar to Jack's lantern, with some shadows moving in it that might suggest a human-shaped crawling figure.

Assuming that the light is heading their way, "Quick, take cover and hide!" Hide +11, Move Silently +9 Shadowlyn moves forward into the shadows and finds a place to conceal herself. Her sling ready for anything taht would threaten her. Shilo nears her and she pats his head, pushing him down somewhat, to help conceal him as well.

While the group manages to find good hiding places, Mintrik and Reilin seem to have made a bit too much noise in doing so, as the light stops, and a shrill voice can be heard.
"Hehe, did you hear, food rat? Hihi, Lothé wonders if it is one of your big brothers?" The shadow seems to take a bite from something it holds in its hand, and audibly chews. "Or maybe the fungus things want to visit Lothé. And tell Lothé what the red light in their area means. Wait, the things don't talk to Lothé. Nobody does. Not even food rats."

Shadowlyn stays hidden, not moving and listening as to if this creature is alone or not. If it proves to threaten them, she will shoot her bullet from her sling at the first threat.

Mintrik stays as silent as he can.
Whatever this thing is, it is extremely perceptive. It made out Shadowlyn's voice at 200 feet.
Mintrik prepare to cast Charm Person, but will wait until it gets closer. Close enough to see if it's a humanoid or not.
