D&D (2024) Animate Objects

All the Conjure spells where replaced, but Animate Objects has the same basic issue.

Unfortunately, the spell name is officially plural. So limiting it to one object doesn't seem like it will work.

So what's a good replacement for it?

Magnetic attraction (or gravity attraction)--you zap someone and all kinds of stuff moves at them. It lacks the sorcerer's apprentice flair, but one target is still being attacked by a bunch of stuff. The higher level you cast, the bigger stuff moves at the target.

A replacement for the name "Animate Objects"?

Summon Elemental?

Do you mean a replacement for the spell effect?

Spell name and level need to be the same.
At least that's what they said.

And given what they did for the Conjure spells, a replacement effect seems likely.

Maybe just do that? Make it a utility spell.

Animate Objects
1 minute (ritual).
Duration: special
You animate 3 object to do a simple non-combat task. You can add simple commands. Such as telling a tea pot to pour tea, or a door to open with a password.
The object can repair itself from most damage over the course of a few minutes. Though sever damage, such as burning a wooden stool would end the spell. This last until you cast the spell again.
At higher level: animate 2 more object for each spell level beyond 3rd.

I ran this in a Theros game, two session adventure.

The players eventually faced off with the Medusa from Theros and the objects were the middle fingers of several statues in her lair.

That was very fun.
