D&D 5E (2014) Announcement coming February 6th

Maybe that is what I was referring to when I mentioned either a Dragon Talk or Mike Mearls' tweet about somebody mentioning epic rules in some way. Alright, that makes sense, it was Chris Perkins in his recent talk with Greg Tito.
Mearls made a conciliatory tweet about Warlords on Twitter recently ("we'd never say never to [martial healing] in 5E."

Still, epic rules and Warlords are not something I expect to see given an official release this decade.

2021, the epic level Warlord handbook! 300 pages of epic level Warlord stuff!

Every class has a Warlord sub-class, and the Warlord is also a full class! So much Warlord, you can't escape it's madness!

Epic rules would be a horrible fail for 5e. High level parties can already trounce the most epic critters they've created. What are they going to make for threats, overdeities?

"You thought Ao was tough, wait until you meet his boss!"

If they made deities proper instead of just as powerful monsters, this wouldn't be an issue.
