I don’t see any way Wizards would let a third party leak their next storyline. The games/books/minis make events to coincide with the hardcover releases, not to spoil them. Just not good business.
The Ring of Winter was a major focus in Neverwinter before it showed up in ToA: "tying in" doesn't necessarily equate to spoilers (though many people correctly deduced that the next AP from that time would be in Chult, waaaay before any announcements).

Yes but the Neverwinter storyline was playing off Storm Kings Thunder (which mentions the Ring) and was nothing like the Ring subplot in Tomb. There’s no real tease there at all. And yes people deduced Chult, but they did so through the hints Wizards themselves left, not because they let a third party use the event before they announced it.

Still, Tito teased that it might be related to the next storyline, per the earlier post in this thread. I wouldn't discount that as a possibility too quickly.
