Are you an NPC?

Cool! I'm a PC

I should have +1 base (charasmatic/1), +1 High School (smart/1), +1 Martial arts training (tough/1), +1 basic training (soldier/1), +1 college (soldier/2-ROTC training), +1 Martial arts/age 21 (martial artist/1), +1 Infantry Lieutenant (soldier/3), +1 deployment (soldier/4), +1 Intelligence Captain (soldier/5).

That makes me a ninth level character! Unfortunately, due to the deployment I lost CON (now at 8), but gained WIS.

I'm about 2 years from my next level, God willing. ;)

Ah come on, you should know that the "Commissioned Officer" template imparts 1 negative level & reduces your wisdom by 2. :p

Normally yes, but being prior enlisted, I was able to keep my current WIS because I listened to my NCOs. :p

I'm level one, but I've almost finished high school, and am already taking some college courses. On a 25 point buy (rather above reality, IMO), I'd have: Str 8, Dex 13, Con 10, Int 15, Wis 12, Cha 14. Realistic would be more like Str 8, Dex 13, Con 8, Int 14, Wis 10, Cha 10. Probably Exp 1, with Skill Application (Know:fantasy and Know:eek:ld movies) and Skill Focus (Know:fantasy). Such a wasted childhood...

By RangerWickett's system, I'm (high school-college-masters-PhD-35 years old) 5th level. Unfortunately, I'n an English teacher, so it's all in Bard (D&D) or smart (Modern).

Definitely the NPC who imparts some useful knowledge but never goes on adventures. Adventures! I don't see what anyone sees in them. Make one late for dinner.

I think I figured out some guidelines for making myself and my friends into d20 Modern characters.

Base level 1 - smart hero
+1 for graduating high school as the head geek of the drama club - charismatic hero
+1 for graduating college with a dramatic arts degree - charismatic hero
+1 for finishing grad school with an MFA in computer arts - smart hero
+1 for turning 21 and studying aikido - fast hero

No action adventures for me - the best I could do would be an ABC after-school special entitled, "Jerry and the Search and Rescue Team"...

I'm about to turn 30, so I'll probably pick up another smart hero level... wow. 6th level. Who'da thunk?

If you could take a portion of your life and turn it into a summer blockbuster action film, you get a level from that 'adventure.' You do not get a level if the best you can come up with is a Ben Stiller romantic comedy. Gangs of New York counts, so if you've been in a gang for a while, go you!

Can it be a pornographic movie? :] j/k! :)

Blarg. I'm only a 2nd level Nerd. I have wasted all my skill points on Knowlege: Anime and Knowledge: Sci-Fi. According to some people I DON'T have Perform: Role-Playing but I would like to think I have at least one rank in it and keep rolling low. I wonder if I can bribe the DM into letting me take one of those broken Presitige Classes? :)

We'll let it pass since you're a Mustang, however we really need to talk about the covers you've stolen from the girls scouts...

Everyone's at least first level. If you've had to go through military or police training, you gain a level.

Check.

If you graduate high school, you get a level.

And again if you graduate college, or get a masters degree,

Check and check (A German university degree in physics is about the equivalent of a Master's Degree IMO).

or doctorate. If you win in the Olympics, or the Super Bowl, or some other thing none of us would ever win at, you get a level.

When you turn 21,

Check.

30, 40, and 65, you gain a level.

So that'd make me... let's say Smart 4 (for my formal education) / Dedicated 1 (for my "life experience" - represents my age of 28) / Tough 1 (for my basic infantry training).

Hey, I'm 6th level!
