I kinda let this proposal drift away due lack of positive response. I got the feeling there wasn't much love for this idea and left it at that. I'm not out to push a mechanic which only me thinks is usefull: it'd need some community support as well.

On the other side: i think your divine/arcane mark suggestion is great

I'm gonna chime in here because of what I've created in Ravensdale. There is a Banking Guild in Ravensdale that operates banks for citizens and licensed businesses, the Banking Guild works in conjunction with the Merchant's Guild and the Shipping Guild to basically run the day-to-day activities in the city. I haven't developed all the details of how the banks operate, but the jist is they don't charge a fee to store money or items, they make their money off of the interest they charge for business loans, personal loans, and lines of credit. To this point, no PCs have used the banks but that may change at the end of my current adventure.
