*As the group hastens to the edge of the dune, they meet an unpleasant surprise. Once they reach the shallow lip of the dune, three large purple distended and twisted scorpions simply appear in a circling triangle to all sides of the group. No burrowing is involved, no movement--suddenly they are just there, and they attack--aiming at the camels!*

(OOC: Rhys and Findoram's camels are hit, Eskon's camel is okay.
Rhys's camel takes 10 Damage
Findoram's camel takes 9 Damage

Initiative--

Irene 19 + 3 = 22
Enemy
Eskon 17 + 1 = 18
Vrina
Enemy
Findoram 9 - 1 = 8
Rhys 4 + 2 = 6
Enemy

Irene's turn--currently one enemy is in the square in front of Rhys's camel, one further back to the side attacking Findoram's, one to the back and other side attacking Eskon. They have Reach, but Irene is okay for now, if she can make the Ride check to control her mount in combat, that is. If she doesn't want to risk it, she can dismount instead.)

Eskon leaps down from his mount and draws his blade, ready to attack the scorpion threatening his camel as soon as possible.

(OOC: Alright, want to try a Fast Dismount? It's DC 20, but a failure just means you take more time, so there's no reason not to, and if you succeed, you get to attack)

Rhys will also try a fast dismount and draw his falchion and if possible attack the scorpion that is in front of him. As he dismounts he yells The ground shaking is not natural and neither is the way these scorpions have appeared before us.

(OoC: I am, however if Irene loses control, her spell doesn't fizzle (which it will if she gets an action but fails the concentrationcheck), correct?)

Eskon attempts to dismount quickly to get into the combat faster. He gets caught up in his stirrup as he hastens, however, and must take the extra time to climb down.
