Exactly. The wording leaves it up to the DM to decide what the fiend does after those few minutes are over... maybe it sticks around, maybe it does not. Keep them around too often, and you won't have a team of bodyguards, you'll have an invading army. Fiends don't have the [Trustworthy] descriptor.
