D&D 3E/3.5 Breaking Out 3E Again

Not exactly my favourite edition but I liked the books. We're playing Princes of the Apocalypse and one player is pawing through my 3.0 FRCS. Another took the noble background and out came the 3.5 Waterdeep book to tie his noble house to the plot hook of rescuing the Waterdeep noble lady.

Thinking of setting the timeline back to 1373 as well as I liked the 3E timeline and have most of the FR books in dead tree format. Spellplague what Spellplague?

That's to be expected, since the 5e FR books are so light on detail.

I use a lot of the fluff books. The Hero's of Series, deities and demigods, manual of the planes ...
