casting time: 1 round and haste

If you got a partial action from haste and used it to cast a summon monster IV spell (A full round cast) would it appear at the start of your main turn? Is there any way this could work in 1 round?

Well, to be pedantic, you can't use Haste to cast a full-round spell.
However, I remember an earlier discussion where the Sage ruled that you could use your PA granted by Haste to bring forward the resolution of the full-round spell to the end of your turn.
ie instead of waiting till the beginning of your next turn before your full-round spell takes effect, it takes effect at the end of the same turn that you cast it.

Sure you can. PHB p 127 allows you to 'start full-round action' as a partial action, and then goes on to say you can complete it on the following round, even with another partial action.

So, you use your haste partial action to begin casting. You complete the casting with your standard action (and can then move, because that's part of a standard action). The creature acts immediately upon appearing.

Not really. A partial allows you to start a miscellaenous full round action, as per table 8-4. Casting a full round spell is not included in thoes options.

With haste you can use your normal full-round actionbs to cast a 1 full round spell and take your partial action afterwords. The spell comes into effect immeditaly before your partial action.

Cool. So this is the rule then?

Note PH p. 127, Table 8-3, and the double dagger-note to "Cast a spell":

...you could start a full-round action and then finish it the next round with a cast a spell action. Spells that take longer than 1 full round to cast take twice as long to cast.

Haste will not change the casting time for those spells. T&B, page 80, addresses this question and says that it takes the entire round to cast them while Hasted. You take your extra partial action either before you cast this spell or after you finish the spell in the following round. But you cannot use one partial action to "speed up" the casting time. You may only do this when the spell's casting time is minutes or more. T&B also deals with this question, too, on pages 80-81.

That seems to say that you could start a 1 round spell during your partial action and finish it with your regular action. Do you think T&B got it wrong on page 80, contradicting this core rule?

I do not have Tome & Blood and cannot comment on what that supplement says. What you're saying sounds counter to both the PHB and the Sage's rulings in the FAQ on the subject.
